If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Did he give you any prior notice of pending arrival or was this a bit of a surprise?

I'm wondering if others among us could be surprised by similar news over the next few days?

My salesperson said that he believed my car to be in production now, but didn't have a VIN, nor any estimate on delivery timing.

When the pre-order was available…i thing in February

He just told me the car was in built process in Korea and end of April begin of may he told me the car was in shipping process.
So yes a nice surprise…;-)

Sounds like I'm still a little off, then. My contact says he thinks its in production, but has made no mention of shipping, so I'm guessing I'm still 6-8 weeks off.

What i know is that there was a 500 batch for this year.

Just received news from Genesis London that my vehicle is a year to a year and a half out. I’m number 911 in the queue. Was initially told 6 months.

I finally got my dealer to say that my car was somewhere in Canada and on its way to the dealership. He would not go further than that and said to expect it in July to be safe. My guess is that I am in the same batch as lemon21 and that my car is in Toronto arriving in early June. This would make sense since the unit was produced in mid-April. Now, I have to order that charging station ans start thinking about selling my car.

Why the cloak and dagger? They should know the transit time for the vehicles, as they would follow a similar path as others arriving from Korea.

My dealer told me my car was built in April, so I would expect it to also arrive in June. But nothing yet from my representative. I ordered Feb 9.
Anyone else in this group have a confirmation of delivery?
I’m here in the US and signed up for

right? Why the secrecy? I’m here in the US and put a deposit via Priority One which had fine print that says that we will be given the option of a refund if car isn’t purchased by mid-July. The US Genesis website said “launching in Spring” and now it says cars are available at select retailers. My understanding is they just sold the first car in the US at a California dealership. Yet today, I called and was given the same song and dance they have been giving for weeks “we don’t have any new information but expect to reach out to you ‘soon’”. At this point, how do they not know more specifics? I can’t imagine a situation in which a major manufacturer has a car to be launched in spring, to only a couple hundred Priority One deposit holders, and they don’t know enough to give us a ballpark to appease us?

It would be interesting to collect past statements made that have been walked back…. Spring availability, tech. leadership, etc.
That’s only the official statements, forget the various claims made by salespeople.

I’m hopeful that the car will be great and we’ll quickly forget all the hassle over the first half of the year.

Well, spring lasts until June 21st, so that statement doesn't have to be walked back at all since they delivered the first one in the US already.

Does anyone else think it's unrealistic it'll take 1 to 1.5 years to fulfill 900 orders for all of Canada? That's a pretty low number but I guess with supply chain issues it could take that long.

Well the Hyundai motor group doesn’t seem to really have Canada as a priority. In April kia sold 2600+ EV6 in the US and almost 8000 in 3 months since its release. Canada received 200 for the year and stopped taking deposits after exceeding the 2023 allotment, the Ioniq 5 is being quoted as 18-24 months minimum for a current new order, in the USA dealers have some on lots and have delivered over 6200 by the end of April, canada sold 202. Even though we are roughly 10% if the market size were still not even close to 10% of the product. We’re unfortunately not big enough to get the focus and allocation despite the interest in the cars. Plus in the USA the GV60 is currently only available in such limited markets you can almost gaurentee there will be significantly more built and delivered south of the boarder. If we actually get the 600 that was the initial pre order by the end of the year another 6-8 months for the next batch of 300+ to get here doesn’t surprise me that much

Those are good points - I didn't realize the numbers were that low for what's being sent to Canada in comparison to the US.

I don’t recall the specific language used, but the implication was that they would be widely available in the spring - not that they’d have delivered some tiny number by that point.

nothing is widely available. I couldn’t even get skim milk at my store yesterday. Strange times

Good point. I don’t blame Genesis for the delays. These are strange times.
I think frustrations could have been substantially better if they didn’t set expectations that they couldn’t meet, and better communicated status/progress. There’s no good reason that most of the threads on this forum should have existed. We should have had info from the source rather than having to cobble things together as a group.
