GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

EV Rebate Increase? still $5k? GV60 qualify? I think they were waiting for the update! It looks like we all looking for a mid-June delivery
Does not look like the Gv60 Performance will qualify , the Advanced trim may though

Hello Irige
I spoke with the Genesis sales manager. Went down in person as he didn’t return my call. He told me my 60 would be in the 2023 product line Nov to ??. Spencer is his name.
My guess is they are getting multiple calls about pricing and delivery but if they communicated with their clients, even if there was no new news to share, it would demonstrate quality service.
Thanks, I chatted with Don so maybe Spencer was less busy when you had a chat with him. Don told me something similar for date though, he said likely November or later.

OK, heard back from my dealer and news are not so good…

Demonstration unit, prices and financing rates are now expected in May, I am number 263 in the queue (all models included), and my car will be built… in 2023!
When did you place your order / deposit to be #263

Still no pricing?! If anyone has information, please do share. I guess those that were given a date of late April for pricing should follow up.

My dealer in the GTA told me pricing should be coming out in June approximately.

No there’s very little information on pricing available and I think most speculation on dates is just that- speculation. My dealer admitted he didn’t know the real date months ago but thought that by March he’d be able to tell me. I’ve gotten an apology since, but as it’s basically May it was clear that was never going to happen.

I have a suspicion that dealers don’t even know the date pricing is coming, let alone the prices from corporate yet. I don’t think any dealer that was nice enough to tell their clients “oh yeah pricing will be April” even has it right now to give out. It would actually be more helpful of Genesis dealers to just say they have no idea and move on - but I’m definitely hoping for an update sooner than later.

Part of me wonders whether they are frantically trying to find some way to change trims and features to get things to fit within the new rebate framework.
Uncertainty on price is a little frustrating, but isn’t hugely important as the vehicles are not yet available. I’m more frustrated with the thought that a deposit early on the day they opened has me receiving a car in November or later, when we were told first half of the year.

If my delivery is pushed out that much, I will likely pass. While they are two very different options, I’m now thinking that my decision will be between moving down to an EV6 or up to a Lucid Air.

Now that I’ve been in person and played with an EV6, it seems like a pretty fantastic vehicle for the price. However I’m even more inclined to go for a sedan than an suv when given the choice and the Lucid Air looks absolutely fantastic. I’ve been tempted myself and have a rep there I’ve been back and forth with at Lucid already.

If deliveries realistically get any more delayed than July I’ll end up going a different route myself too- it’s just not a great taste taking $1000 right at the start of the year and pushing us all out indefinitely.

I’ve been driving sedans for close to a decade, and would very much prefer one to an SUV. The big question is whether the Lucid is THAT MUCH better to warrant the incremental price.

True, and I wish I lived anywhere near one of their studios to try one in person. Given the base is $105k and the best value mid trim is about $135k it’s a tough sell to get there from the 65-80 range. That said the range is fantastic and they seem like a ton of fun to drive. I think the range and exclusivity and performance will probably sell the cars to a lot of people, but I can’t get behind that until I see one in person at the very least.

I’ll be in Toronto at the end of May, and will be popping in to have a look. They offer remote service to customers regardless of location, which has kept it on my list, despite the distance. I had briefly considered a Polestar 2, but outside of a certain radius from their service centres, getting the car in for service is the owner’s headache. Bad call, IMO.
Also Licid confirmed they have ADB headlights enabled in Canada - again, unlike Polestar that treats us like Americans.

Font think there is anyway they are getting the Gv60 advanced under 60000 unless they introduce RWD trim for Canada , either way though the Performance trim will not be below 70000 so it will not be eligible either way

Minbari

How does EV6 fit into the picture for you. Agree it and Ioniq5 are great vehicles for the price however even if you have placed a reservation they have no idea when your order will be fulfilled with best “guesses” likely to be 12 to 18 months out or more! At least with GV60 those early enough in the que have good prospects for delivery this year. Now if we only had better idea of pricing for said delivery!

The EV6 is an awesome car that I wouldn’t own, but could comfortably recommend for a lot of people. The satin/matte like finish of their signature grey looks amazing in person but durability would be a concern long term. It’s a huge vehicle in person compared to the look online, but undoubtedly HMG is killing the styling on all these cars. It commands attention in a way that’s hard to believe “for a kia” at this point. They have done amazing with their brand image, and the way the car looks and feels is impressive.

For me personally it doesn’t have the performance or luxury that I’m after in a vehicle though. I’m willing to make tradeoffs for one or the other but the EV6 didn’t do it for me. Likewise you mention the delivery timelines- since I wasn’t interested I didn’t get into it with the reps but I’m sure the dates they quote are deep in 2023 if they even would provide a guesstimate.

For me I’m not even wholly sold on the GV60- the delivery timelines look promising since I’ve held a deposit since day 1, but we still don’t even know pricing yet. I’m a few weeks from my Model 3 Performance order coming in and I might be tempted to go that route, depending on the situation come late May/June. I’m also going to be in Vancouver later this summer to try the Lucid Air which might tempt me to buy one of those and sell whichever car I end up with. I’m hoping the GV60 (and potential rebate) make it an enticing enough vehicle to choose, but if they price into the 80’s that’s very challenging to decide.

I'm guessing nothing pertaining to pricing was discussed.
I checked with my Sales guy in Mississauga at Square One, and he hadn’t heard anything from Genesis Corporate on orders and delivery dates so that is strange! Oh well at least everyone is consistently inconsistent!

Yup that's my dealership. I really had to call a few times and escalate it to the sales manager before they told me my position and was guessing around a starting price of 70k.

March 23rd.
Did they actually show you a screenshot of any kind?
Cause I doubt that's true. I pre-ordered 2 weeks after you and a week and a half ago I was told there are more than 1,300 pre-orders already!
