  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Out of interest, we're you able to see Cardiff Green if advanced was selected on the Montreal site?

Montreal dealer GV60 arrived late Friday evening. He took it home for the weekend and posted photos.

For those of you who are interested in Red....

Yes, I was only looking at Performance and though all colours were available in that trim.

I made $1,000 deposit for Advanced trim on April 29, 2022 in Toronto.
Any chance to get delivery this year?
If not, I am considering to cancel my pre-order and move to 2023 Mercedes GLC which is expected to arrive early 2023.

Quick question. I do not know import laws. Can you purchase one in the US and then take it to Canada? Not that they are more available here, just wondering.

Likely not. Why not ask your dealer?

It is vehicle specific...and a bit of hassle. I have done it in the past and it was worth it. Check out RIV.ca Also, when I did it, the dealers weren't supposed to sell to someone outside of their geography, but I found lots that would. Those were the good old days when car dealers had to try.

It is almost $10k Canadian higher priced in the US (performance model) converting $US 69,000 to $C. Even way more expensive in the UK, also.

I believe that's due to tariffs that the US government charges upon import. And those tariffs paid by Genesis would not be refunded to the buyer even if they export the vehicle to Canada. Then the Canadian importer has to pay GST and excise tax upon import.

pretty random, good luck getting the GLC. That's not electric tho.
Same money for an good old ICE. Personal choice.
I've been to MB dealer, they are willingly to accept 1000$ deposit for a *chance, to be the first.
Realisticly, you won't get the car this year. Hope for the EQB, which will certainly be more expensive once Canada's side. Plus option option...

For general information:
I spoke to my insurance company today (TD) about rates. They said they don’t have the GV60 in their books yet but gave me an estimate based on the GV70.
She said it would be between $2000 to $2400 based on the price of the car and comparing to the GV70. That was before a 5% discount if I install winter tires.
She also said that electric vehicles get a further 5% discount.
This was just an estimate but she felt (after speaking to a supervisor) that this was a pretty close estimate.
Interestingly she also said that Teslas are at least twice as expensive to insure because all they make is electric and they don’t have a long/good track record. Genesis, she said, is a recognized and respected name.
Take all this for what it’s worth.

I got a similar response from my insurer, though they didn't mention a 5% EV discount. A theoretical estimate is all good, but if your vehicle was ready to be picked up tomorrow, could your insurance company properly insure it and bill you for it?
Are we all going to be frustrated when our dealers call us to pick up our cars, but they have to sit on the lots for a couple weeks until we can get policies for them?

Let's hope not... But let's be honest, would we be surprised at this point?

Same. Genesis West Ottawa has had horrible communication for being a "premium" dealership.
The Hyundai dealership has displayed far superior customer service by comparison in my opinion. If only I wasn't lukewarm to the ionic 5. I think a lot of people fail to realize that no new information is still information. If someone claims to demonstrate "superior" or "premium" customer service, then I expect to be kept somewhat in the loop. Even if nothing has changed. But that's just me, I can be a bit idealistic/old fashioned.

For people that complaint initially the GV60 is priced too high, but just look at the KDM price.
For Performance, (

I am with TD as well!! So I 'll make sure they will include a 5% discount.
But why Tesla have good record? Costing too much for repairs? or the Driver falling asleep with Autopilot (FSD on)? Damn.
