  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

Seeing how some people are getting their deliveries soon makes me wonder if something is wrong at my dealership.
With "traditional" dealerships, new car allocations are based on historical sales: the higher your sales volume, the higher your allocations for new cars.

Since Genesis dealerships are supposed to be "distributors", they may not use the same rationale, but I doubt it.

Does anyone knows if deliveries are allocated by dealer, by province, by region or nationally?

If they are allocated by "distributor" (i.e. dealer), it may explain why some of us are getting/promised their car earlier.

For what it's worth, I am on the south shore of Montreal (Genesis Rive-sud), I placed my reservation for a Performance on March 23rd, I am told my "rank" is 263 all models included, and that my car will be built in 2023.

He also told me I should be called "soon" for a test drive, that they have more than 150 pre-orders, and more than 100 test drives to schedule.

Crazy times I guess!

Not that I know anything, but if you are 263 and they aren’t building it until 2023, that Seems off to me since I was told They are delivering 500 or 600 cars this year

Indeed, unless they already had a few hundred units built at the time.

Does anyone know if Genesis will have Advanced models for testing? I sort of want to see how the Advanced will be like, instead of testing the Performance model.

I think models built after June 2022 are considered as a 2023 model. I was told 4-8 months wait and I am #265 and am seeing dealer next week. Also online Genesis Rep said it could up to be 40% that will cancel order after people see vehicle and pricing info, so build orders will move up as cancellations increase

I think they are all considered 2023. If you ordered through the portal, you can see It is named 2023 Genesis GV60. My car was built in April and will be delivered soon, 2023 model.

hhahaha right, just test drove last sunday the dealer said it works and used it right in front of me 😂
A review I saw said to set it up you needed both keys on you to initialize it. Back in the day when I worked at a car dealership the second set was locked in a file cabinet with the title and additional paperwork which could be causing some of the confusion with it not working possibly

When did you place your reservation?
Feb 28. In Ontario. I wanted to change to matte white after seeing some more photos but the sales rep said if I changed exterior colour, I’d get sent to the back of the queue. Kept it blue. :p

You can view your sales document on the Genesis site with all the information regarding your car. On mine it says 2023 Genesis GV60 Performance.

That’s interesting. Where are you located? Did you get your VIN number?
I was told my car is on the train and was given a VIN. I will be able to track my car once it is on a truck for delivery to the dealer. Ordered Performance white on Feb 9, in Quebec.
I'm in Vancouver. I didn't ask for a VIN though. He did show me a list of about 12ish cars in the first batch that arrived. So a bunch of people getting their cars next week for sure.

I have changed my colour choice from Performance Lime to Advanced Burgundy. Then just changed to Advanced Mint colour. My sales guy said none of it should change much in the queue, especially since they stopped taking orders in Canada.

I placed my order (Performance) on Feb 8th. Went to see the demo couple of weeks ago, but no details regarding delivery. They only told me I'm high up on the list, and eta will be 6-8 weeks from when my order hits production. Seeing how some people are getting their deliveries soon makes me wonder if something is wrong at my dealership.
Yeah it’s the same here, placed an order for a performance (matte white exterior and white interior) on Feb 8th and was getting no info from my dealer. Went to see them a few days back and they were saying that my car would get built in 2023 😭.
