I formally 'committed' last Tuesday and was told my car was almost at Vancouver. But my dealer says they still don't have a VIN, which I think is odd.
He insisted I commit or else the order would be shipped to another dealer.
I was told likely delivery end of June or first week of July.
Nothing 'formal' except may dealer asked me to confirm I was taking the model. We valued my trade-in which he committed to a price on.What do you mean by committed? There's another step after reserving that they want to make sure you're actually purchasing 100%?

Yup.What do you mean by committed? There's another step after reserving that they want to make sure you're actually purchasing 100%?
so you got a VIN? my dealer says it's not available yet.I 'committed' Monday. I got my VIN on Friday.
Apparently, Genesis doesn't want their dealers holding unsold inventory and there is some sort of 'fee/fine' involved if vehicles need to be redirected. Add this to the number of people waiting for a GV60, and I can understand why they'd look to redirect the car if I had cold feet.
Yup.
I wish Genesis made the whole process more transparent. I did my test drive on June 1st, in Markham, ON. Committed and got approved for financing on the same day, although my dealer still says she doesn't have any information on my build rank or when my order will go into production. Ordered Performance Saville Silver on Black on Feb 14. On Feb 15, dealer called and said that I was #107 in Canada. This was the only time she provided any information on my order.I 'committed' Monday. I got my VIN on Friday.

That is strange. If they can tell you when the vehicle will arrive, one has clearly been designated for you. It’s VIN has to be recorded somewhere if they’re tracking it’s movement.I just reached out to my dealer and he told me my car is due at the dealership June 27. He said he doesn't have a VIN so far which is very strange I think.
I totally agree. Honestly, I've bought cars from at least 7 or 8 different manufacturers and while it's true that I have never had to order one in advance quite like this, I have never been confronted with such an opaque process as buying from Genesis. That is strange. This is exactly why I have no desire to purchase any protection plan through them...I totally agree. I can only hope the after sales service is more customer oriented.
Congrats. This makes sense. If they’re expecting 40% of pre-orders to cancel, there should be plenty of vehicles unclaimed to provide to those of us that are having second thoughts on what we chose. When I test drove early last week, I had second thoughts about the burgundy colour I had chosen, but was told like others were that changes put you to the back of the line. But my experience manager emailed me today and told me that Genesis Canada told me today that I could change my colour selection and keep my spot. So now I'm going with Savile Silver.
My dealer told me its 8 year 160,00 kms for the genesis gv60!GV60 Battery Warranty - has anyone noticed that its only 2 years or 40,000kms, yet the Ioniq5 platform is identical and that warranty is 8 years or 160,000 kms? what is Genesis worried about having one of the worst warranty for their batteries?
I would guess, that is for the standard lead acid battery for a regular vehicle & bet they haven’t changed the literature to suit an EV yet. For a Premium Brand, there are an awful lot of mistakes regarding communication.GV60 Battery Warranty - has anyone noticed that its only 2 years or 40,000kms, yet the Ioniq5 platform is identical and that warranty is 8 years or 160,000 kms? what is Genesis worried about having one of the worst warranty for their batteries?
