I once again visited the local Genesis dealer 2 days ago (also a Hyundai dealer). So, I was able to see the GV70 and Santa Fe Calligraphy at the same time. As others have said, no comparison. But, I have to because of price. The Santa Fe seems to be in good supply and they are now offering it at $2750 under MSRP. That brings it to $42745, roughly $13000 less than a GV70 2.5 Prestige, $24000 less than a 3.5.
But, I really love the GV70. It has that look that stands out in a crowd, where the Santa Fe for the most part looks like every other plane jane SUV. The Santa Fe seems fairly peppy to me with the 2.5T, which is important to me. As I mentioned before, I've only driven the 3.5T GV70, but I would expect the 2.5 GV70 to accelerate about the same as the Santa Fe.
Yesterday for the first time, I've seen Genesis GV70 ads during the football game. It might be a sign from above.

I'm a (young) 67 year old retiree and I keep my vehicles for about 10 years. So, I want to make the right decision. I like a fun driving vehicle.
The price of a 3.5T is a stretch for me, but not out of the question. 2.5T Prestige seems like a good compromise.
What to do!? I think I'll wait it out hoping for a GV70, hoping the supply increases and I can get just a little bit of price relief. They do have a low mileage used 3.5T Prestige on the lot, asking $64000 which I think is too much.
Sorry for all of my ramblings.
