  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV70 - honest discussion

They are not changing anything for the 2022s.
You can also get navy blue suede with red stitching and searbelts, or the black suede with red console and lower dash.

But, I agree with you (as many do), it sucks they didn't just make it all leather like in other markets.

That's a bummer. They really missed the mark in terms of options and colors on the various trim levels. 😔
They missed it for you, but I see new forum owners here daily. The suede seats are fine, and the car is more than just the seats. A lot of the manufacture's top trim has suede seats these days.

My opinion - and the forum membership are really just anecdotes......not statistical market data. The issue is not just the suede, but colors. For seat color specifically, it's just the vanilla/white, and black. But above that, the top trim is the only one that has a full digital dash (even though Hyundai has this on vehicles half the cost), heads up display, and more. And there have been about a dozen different forum members who have been equally as frustrated that the trim levels are segmented as they are.

All of you should take your complaints to Genesis. However, if you're not happy with the options, there are other vehicles to choose from that might meet your expectations. Unfortunately, there is not much anyone can do about the US 2022s at this point. You can wait for the 2023s and see if anything changes.

Finally had a chance to test drive the 3.5 sport prestige today. Thought I was going to a stand-alone dealer but ended up being a Hyundai as well. Was around 2:30ish so wasn’t busy which was nice so I could easily get in a vehicle for a test drive. Overall really liked the ride and feel of everything. Definitely a lot of tech and options to go through but I didn’t get to see in the weeds with those. The sport+ setting seemed to drone mostly and I’m assuming they pump in the exhaust noice into the cabin much like the Germans do. I would love to have an extended test drive in one of these to really get familiar and comfortable with the car.

I also saw the blue interior which looked way better in person than I thought it would.

I believe they only had 5 GV70s in stock.

2 months and 2300 miles. Only issue was I noticed once that when and stopping and getting up to speed in traffic some lurching between gears. Kind of hunting between 2nd and 3rd I'd guess. I did have the dash light up last week that said "eLSD malfunction see dealer" but after reading the manual it may have been because I was idling in 104 degree weather for awhile. It has not come on again and hoping it won't.

Other than that the windshield seems like soft glass that does not take small rocks very well.

The rest is great and I am very pleased.

Is it possible to start the car from your phone? Is there an app?

Yes, there is an app or you can do it from the my Genesis web site.

Yes. Just down-load the Genesis app. I'm not Mr. Techno by any means but it's easy and it works. It even has face ID which makes it easier.

Only Genesis models have the 3D digital gauge cluster. It may be a gimmick, but it's clearly not the same thing as the cheaper digital displays found in the likes of the Elantra.

Agreed, yes. There is a difference between the 3D digital cluster, and the regular all-digital clusters on the lower models. But if I'm paying $50K for a Genesis, I don't think I want this weird half-analog, half-digital display. But, I need to get behind the wheel of one to make a good judgement call.

From the Genesis app, are you able to remotely call up the side cameras? And view what's going on around your car?

Yes and no. You cant access live video camera feeds from the app. But you can request still images be taken from the cameras and be sent to the app. Takes about 30 seconds or so.

Not a real time stream, but you can request images be sent to you.

I traded a 2020 Hyundai Palisade Limited for a 2.5 Sport Prestige.
The Palisade had content that exceeded the GV70. As an example full digital gage cluster and HUD, Napa leather, charging ports in seat backs, rear heated and cooled seats.Somehow I think they overdid the content on the under $50k Palisade and shorted the content on the $55k GV70.
