  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Not my thing tbh. But my or anyone else liking or not doesn't matter. Everyone's tastes and preferences are different. Your vehicle, and if you like it, that is all that matters. Enjoy it!!
Appreciate your honest, yet tactful feedback.

To your point: I don't post to the forum for approval or validation, and I don't think anyone should. For example, the 'murdered out' trend is not my thing, but I still like seeing what other folks on this forum have done. That's part of the culture. I post to contribute back to the community so that other people can draw inspiration for their own customizations.

If its the 3.5t model that has ECS. 22’s should be fine considering the tire wall to be between 45-50. It would right smooth. If its a 2.0t model that does not have ECS. I would say stick to a bigger tire sidewall.
Its the 2.5 model with out ECS. Also on 22's the wall will be 35. Not alot of rubber.

Then i would say it will be a bumpy ride. But hey man, if those looks cool (which i am a big fan of) go for it if you are ok for the the ride to be a little bit harsh. Otherwise, it couldn’t be more worse than a bmw mx3 ride quality. Genesis are much more comfortable.

See.. I think i'd be fine with it, but the wife approval factor is a thing here. Im gonna go back to the dealer and drive one with the 21" wheel again and drive a 3.5 base which i dont think has the adaptive suspension in Canada.

I'm in Canada and looking at 22s for my 2.5T Prestige because 21" options limited and the 21" tires are crazy expensive. Agree ride will be impacted, but thinking of going with a taller sidewall to compensate ie. 265 40 22 (instead of almost equivalent 265 35 22). In fact, the sidewall with be .2" taller than the stock 21" tires. Yes, it means my speedometer will be slightly off (ie. showing me as going faster than I really am), but that's okay. Also fills in the wheel well a bit more. Have seen a few have done it (I think those were on the FB GV70 group), and I think it looks good. Of course, everyone's tastes are different.

correct, the adaptive suspension is only on the one trim....3.5 Sport Plus in Cda.

I guess this is what I would need to consider as well.
According to tiresize.com/calculator a 40 sidewall will be 2.7% larger in radius than what the car is set for.
Difference is negligible really...

We had the 255/40/21 from the factory and had a blowout within the first week unfortunately. I talked to the tire place about this and they hooked me up with a 275/40/21 and the ride is much smoother and sidewall is larger. I like the view of the car from an angle now a bit better too.

No issues with tight turns running or anything it’s not that big of a change with that.

Overall the 275 tires was $100 cheaper a tire too.

Yes, also an option if you have the stock 21", although the stock 9" wheel is just on the boundary of being wide enough for a 275 series width tire. Seems the Michelins have a soft sidewall to improve ride comfort at the expense of strength to absorb impact. Lots of reports of tire blowouts on the 21". If I could find a set of used stock 21s (I am one of those who really like the stock 21") would consider that as well.

I would be really interested in seeing how those 275 looks on the car. It would really be sick witha wider tire. Could you share a picture?

Currently the leading option for me is 20x9 Touren TR92's w/ lowering springs to get best of all worlds. I really really really love the look of the 22's but I have a feeling I'm gonna just hate the ride on the 2.5 Prestige without any kind of adaptive suspension. We're really after this look, but can't sacrifice the ride quality for it too much.

No, the ECS comes with both 3.5 models sports and sports plus. The only difference in sports plus is it comes with electronic limited slip differential.

Yup, but not a fan of lowering. I guess that my eye immediately knows what I like of ratio of sidewall to wheel size, and 20's are just a tad small for me and too much rubber. Again, just my taste but hear you on the ride quality. If that is priority, sounds like you're taking the right approach.

I snapped a few on the walk to the car tonight. Hopefully it is evident, I can tell but maybe not everyone A9F657C2-B502-4476-A84E-0F659C3DADD7.webp

Michelin Pilot Sport all seasons. Ran about $1300 for a set USD 275/40/21’s
Tbh pilot sports are more better than primacy’s. I am definitely gonna get these changed in the near future.

Oh yeah when I really looked at the two pilot sport is stiffer sidewall sportier tire. Easier to get too. Couldn’t find primacy at most places
