  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Yup, but not a fan of lowering. I guess that my eye immediately knows what I like of ratio of sidewall to wheel size, and 20's are just a tad small for me and too much rubber. Again, just my taste but hear you on the ride quality. If that is priority, sounds like you're taking the right approach.
100%. I feel like 20's are just a tad too small too. I think if we had the adaptive dampers I'd go with 22's without question. I guess I'm waiting for someone who has a 2.5 that is running 22's to chime in to see how harsh it really is lol.

@havanablue2022 Your color combo is an instant classic. Sheeeeeesh

Love this drop, can you give an update on ride quality vs stock? I want the drop but I'm more interested in how much better the cornering is.

Handling is much better in corners and overall. Much tighter feel. I know many will challenge this but it felt a little boat like prior for me. The ride is much stiffer. There is still play in the suspension but its not cloud like anymore. I am ok with feeling the road more but there is a difference. So if you want a better look and handling but can give up some comfort in the ride then I would go with it. If you like the softness you have in the suspension now then I would stay away from it.

Just a quick update, will be test fitting 20x10 +40 with the help of our local dealer and a really amazing wheel/tire shop in town on Tuesday morning hopefully. Will be testing with a 255/45 tire on it.
  1. Will check for rub when turning wheel to max range both sides
  2. Will check for fender clearance
  3. Will check for internal clearance.
  4. Will check fitment and snap pics for reference for poke / flush etc etc
I'm fairly confident the GV70 can take up to a 22x10.5 from one particular owner's videos on youtube in the UK who has confirmed with me that he is running a squared setup of 22x10.5 but he doesn't know the offset. Check the comment section:

I know there is not alot of info out there for fitment on these vehicles so hoping this will help some of you out! Will keep you guys posted!

Guys! Just at the wheel shop with a dealer car rn. I can confirm that 20x10" +40 is almost perfect for fitment if you want just a tiny bit of poke, pretty tasteful amount imo.

The wheel here is a TSW Watkins. The ooooooonly thing to be careful of is the spokes have about 2mm clearance from the calipers.

The tire is a 255/45/r20 conti DWS06

We drove the car forward and back with the wheels turned to max left/right with no rubbing whatsoever. I couldn't get any full pics of the car with this wheel since it was just in the shop bay, but hopefully this helps some of you out while shopping!

We called TSW because we're looking at the bronze machined TSW Luco which should have the same spoke angle as the Watkins. Attacked a picture of what that will look like on a Tesla haha.

Yeah, the 20" wheels look like the right fit for this vehicle! I'm curious as to whether or not you noticed any change in the ride going from 19" to 20"? I found a huge difference between the 2.5T and 3.5T with the 21" wheels, which is the main reason I dropped down to the 2.5T. Is it noticeable? Thanks.

Do the rears poke the same amount as the front or are they more flush? Great fitment information for future wheel shoppers.

Hope this helps. Also I think my camera angle on the front made it seem like quite a bit of poke but it's not bad in person at all. Couldn't get many good angles of the back one as the shop was pretty quick in checking the back for clearance. Snapped what I could.

Looks good. From the pictures it looks like the back has a little more room for a lower offset. Wonder what a 275 or 295 would look like.

OK. I am sure there will be some hate for this but going to post a video ling with a cold start and a couple of quick revs with the muffler delete. Pics below are after we removed the muffler and then the new pipes. Shop I have used in the past looked at the overall system and said it was very good overall and no need for anything custom. Just do the muffler delete if looking for a little sound. I have driven it about 1500 miles with the delete and am happy with the results. Just wanted to share in case other are thinking about going this route.

One more update. Blacked out chrome tailpipe tips. They were the only bright chrome on the car. Thanks to LQQK on the forum for posting his process for this. Used high heat paint and went with a semi gloss finish. Much happier with the look now. TP blackout.webp

I heard doing this set up theres a lot of drone? True?

With any exhaust mod there will be some drone. The cabin definitely has more sound. It's not annoying and have done several long trips with it and it does not seem to be an issue. Again it takes away the ultra quiet cabin but I am ok with the end results. Willing to have a little inside noise for the way it sounds overall when driving now.

I picked up the aftermarket mud flaps. Not sure if I should install them. Do they look ok for my uyuni white gv70?

Nice...like the wheels. Presume that is a gunmental of sorts. I prefer a little less rubber in proportion, but that is just a preference thing. Plan on tinting my tails with very light smoke (and will pull off if I find light output in daytime is too low), but hesitate doing the headlights for fear of diminishing light output. Curious if you have any feedback in that regard.

Yes it is gunmetal, and yes their is a major diminishing of light output, noticed immediately. If you're in a high deer area like me I would not recommend lol. However, I think it makes the car look better but thats my opinion.
