  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Gv70 Show off your Mods to date.....

There have been many many many many many many installs of JB4 on countless Genesis G70s and 80s to date and I havent read any issues =)
There's definitely a prevalent issue where boost is cut under WOT on the GV70, and at least as of a few weeks ago there was no solution yet. Should this stop you from getting one? I don't know, I'm still gonna, I'm almost never at WOT anyway.

What year was your Audi???
I had a 2018 RS5.... every time it needed service for ANYTHING, they scanned logs and would easily find parameters that were out of whack - my dealer was mod friendly, but had told me that Audi is now becoming very strict. Audi apparently now automatically runs scans of all vehicles in for service in an automated log report to corporate.
Warranty issues can be denied by an automated system, immediately upon detection of a single parameter out of spec against another (e.g., boost pressure versus IATs, etc.).

Also, a tune doesn't just impact the engine - it impacts the entire drivetrain...
Fighting a Magnusson Moss warranty issue with a manufacturer, it you've chipped/tuned and lost the transmission, AWD system, eLSD (even with known issues) would be a battle from hell...

YMMV - but the RS5 and now my GV70 are the only two cars I've not tuned....
Still own the 2014 Audi S4. This was years ago as I am clearly out of warranty now.

I understand a tune doesn't just impact the engine, but the comment I was quoting only mentioned the engine.

Perhaps I've been lucky with my car ownership. Despite the burning of a little extra oil in the Audi which was not unique to only my car, no car I've owned has ever needed warranty work outside of a small module here or there or a backup camera.

I've owned multiple Audi's....
Each had oil burning issues.
My first two were certified by Audi.. oil burning resolved with a ceramic oil additive, got better mileage and significant free-er engine revving.....
My last two Audi's were new, never burned a single drop of oil.
I used the Moto-man break-in technique and never had a single engine issue....

NOT a break-in technique I'd use on any non-German engine....

Locate black harness “left sub” white - black wires pins 1-2 and “right sub” Green - Orange wires pins 16-17. Tapping into those lines, ran power from battery and ran a fuse tap for remote turn on from the left quarter panel.

I am about to install a Rockford Fosgate P300-10 this weekend.. I am unclear about the wiring here.. would you please highlight the module and wiring (maybe drawing a square box around the pictures and putting a little text).

Thanks

Very small change, but I did not care for the plastic strike plates so I upgraded. Purchased from Sal here on the forum.

Has anyone with the Vik Black model done a chrome delete? I'm thinking of doing the lettering on the back and trims on the door. Would love to see a pic of how it turned out

Small world - also have a '14 S4. Won't get rid of it...since the B8.5 is the last of the manuals. I've done a shit ton to that car - visually and performance wise. For the record, it doesn't burn oil as all.

To keep this thread on topic:
As for the Genesis...only mod's are really not seen other than some black chrome badges are a device to keep the auto stop from working and wireless apple car play. Really don't consider any of these mods though. May tint the front windows but outside of that...this isn't really the type of car I'd be tossing in a tune, lowering, or adding an exhaust to.

This is all I have to show it off.Gen14.webp

I have the jb4 installed on my 2.5 and it definitely makes a difference. You can feel it pull all the way through the rpm range vs without it. I also had one on my stinger from 1k miles till my lease was up at 40k miles. 0 issues other than needing spark plugs replaced at around 30k miles.

One thing to note is the jb4 is 100% undetectable if removed form the car. It plugs into 2 sensors using factory style clips after the ecu and modifies the signal wire to trick the ecu into thinking the boost is lower than what it actually is so the demand for more air increased. The ECU sees everything is in normal range where in reality the boost is increaed resulting in more power. It changes nothing in the ECU.

Added just a hint more carbon to the car. Won't be seen by many people but I do like the added touch to make my GV70 different.

I considered buying these and man do they look great but the "born to create" ruins it for me personally.

About to place my pre-order for my next mod. A slight price discount was offered for the pre-order which finalized my decision. Springs are supposed to ship mid-November. I'm being told they will drop the front 1.5" and drop the rear about 1.7". With any luck they can be installed just in time for the first major snow storm, causing me to second guess all my major life decisions including that to lower my vehicle just before winter. :ROFLMAO: :oops:

That's a pretty aggressive drop! These obviously aren't the storm springs, what brand are they?

Definitely interested to see the outcome with these springs.

M&S America is the brand. I got in on the pre-order. Same company I purchased my Ardo fiber kits from and I was very satisfied with their service on the Ardo kits. If anyone wants the company info shoot me a PM and I will share it. Not sure if forum rules allow me to post it here.

I've been debating on putting Storm Springs on because of winter. I think I'm gonna go through this winter stock and see how much snow gets stuck in the fenders and go from there. Interested to see how these springs work out, and how winter works out for you.

Yea, it's going to be interesting with snow. I have no idea how much snow or type (icy, wet, light and fluffy) of snow we will get. But over the past 5 years I have only had one snow storm that the Audi S4 couldn't clear with the much lower clearance height. Although our plows are normally out right away clearing major roads. The GV70 will have a higher clearance than the S4 even after being lowered.

That's pretty much my same thought process, even lowered I'd still have more clearance than my wrx did, which I never had issues in other than plow banks but not much you can do about that. I have, however, had issues with getting too much snow packed in the fenders and losing all suspension travel.

How much are those new springs roughly?
