I took out the cabin air filter behind the glove box to remove any debris and determine what shape it was in. I then tried removing the cabin air filter you access from the passenger side of the engine bay. You get to it by removing about 8 plastic clips to lift off a shroud. The filter clip is similar to the glove box design but also has a retaining screw securing it to the filter box. The screw is pointed in the direction of the fender leaving about an inch and a half to use an offset screwdriver to remove it. I can't get a good look at the thread but it isn't a Phillips head or blade. Does anyone know what type and size it is and were you able to remove it?
