  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV80 Pricing (USA) Revealed

Disappointed in a few things.
1) must get the 3.5 to have the Nappa leather and digital instrument cluster
2) no mention of the built in dash camera system?

The dash camera system isn't available on US spec. They also removed the power 2and row seats for the US and Canada doesn't get soft close doors on the 3.5T Prestige I don't think.

Huh, I had to go check the spec sheet to make sure, but you are right about the digital cluster. Strange how that was not made standard on the 2.5T Prestige, especially when it already includes some of the high-tech features like RANC and the Active Motion Seat. Even weirder that it has the HUD standard but not the digital screen. That being said- none of these missing features other than the digital screen are even offered on the Lexus RX to begin with, so....

An loaded RX is also cheaper than a loaded 2.5T, and has a pretty good service experience. No wonder it sells 10K per month.

A little message to Hyundai, don’t get over confident with the feedback from the mock configuration builds, it’s not a confirmed deposit for one and from unconfirmed rumors of pricing for a top of the line under $65k USD was an excellent value to establish your first SUV to undercut the German establishment of BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi. But the over $70k price point had a lot of people especially in these blogs to pull back and put on a wait and see attitude now. If the 3.5T engine has the output performance of a X5M or GLE63, then there’s value. One looks at horsepower to set the table for pricing and Hyundai had yet to publish this. They are teasing us big time with this controlled press releases to get feedback from us.

A fully loaded RX will still be missing most if not all the Genesis prestige features barring the HUD. Digital dash isn't available unless one gets the F-Sport package which raises the price even further. It's also technologically outdated even with the recent refresh. The GV80 is a superior vehicle on all fronts, even with the 2.5T.

Since your first post on this board is an angry rant, and you named yourself after a Mercedes (which TOTALLY shows no bias), I'm not sure if you are the first person Hyundai would care to listen to. But please, pay attention to what was already discussed these past few pages.

I was thinking of replacing the wife sante Fe with a gv80 to match my g80. I like it all except the engine . Would have preferred a 3.8. I know turbo r better but we keep vehicles long time.

Anyone seen towing specs on gv80 yet?

^Up to 5000 pounds I believe, but no word yet on if it'll be a dealer-installed option since it's not on any feature list for the US model

This likely does not reflect the total sales activity for the X5 40i but I went through the last 15 deals posted to get an idea of the MSRP and discounts. Here is what I came up with:

MSRP: $75,462
Dealer Discount: $7,484
Selling price before incentives: $67,979

The most common incentives are:
APR Credit (like lease cash except given when you purchase and not lease): $2,000
Loyalty: $1,250
Conquest: $750
BMW Car Club: $1,000

I'm not sure exactly what conclusions we can draw except maybe that on average people are not getting an X5 in the MSRP price range that would be "comparable" to having the features of the GV80 3.5t Prestige.

Given that, I tried to configure an X5 with the features of the 3.5t Advanced to get an idea of that price difference. It turned out that differential was about the same as the top trim with it being around $8k.

I think what all this means is that if, and that is a big if, the GV80 is sold at MSRP there will not be a significant difference in price between an X5 and the GV80 when dealer discounts and incentives are taken into account. It will be interesting to see in a year or two how that plays out.

Yes I know...thus my disappointment! If they’re trying to compete with the big boys, they should offer ALL the toys! FWIW I sent Genesis a message to that effect through social media. Maybe we should all do similar since there’s still time for them to change their minds. Corporate is likely all heady about the “presales” when in fact nothing yet is sold!
I won’t add to the debate regarding “value”, but for my own situation, I was expecting a fully loaded version for no more than $65k. Whether that was a justified assumption is irrelevant, as it was my assumption. Now that we are north of $70k to get all the techno-toys and luxury items (I don’t care about the higger engine), my eye has started to wander.

My exact sentiment as well. Eyes started wandering too. 😂

You'd have to convince the people who have made the RX the top selling luxury vehicle for over a decade that, not me. I would not purchase an RX and that's why I've used X5 comparisons but lexus is obviously going something right with it. I don't understand the RX and ES market.

Yah, same here. I was committed to waiting on price (and still am), but looking at comps at those price points for the features I truly care about, Genesis is merely on par, it is no longer a "value". I purchased my current genesis because of it's value and performance/execution. I'm able to buy whatever I want financially, but part of that is because I'm careful with my $$, and mindful of return on investment. These price points reflect only decent value by my standards when compared to comps (not just the BMW).

Lets not forget too, even if we can attribute a 3-5% value bias in favor of the Genesis over comps, it still lacks dealer/service support, I intend to keep my next purchase for 200K miles. Support matters to me. I can get a one of my top choices serviced at multiple locations within 20 miles of me, and there is only one genesis near by at 50 miles the next state north. The next nearest is the only Genesis in my state, it's 180 miles away. If the closest dealer burns me (and they don't have a great reputation here as it is), my next choice is way too far away. This sort of issue becomes important over time, and Genesis won't solve that any time soon. I'd be willing to work around this it if were a better value.

I'm looking at a Lincoln Avaitor, it's slightly above on price if you were to do a same for same, but you also get more size/power/choice/towing/support with similar tech/safety/luxury/service, and a warranty that is comparable where it matters to me (bumper to bumper on mileage is 50K for both). The other warranties favor Genesis, but those aren't the ones that matter most to me.

Spot on!! Even if they had it right under $70K for marketing.

Blackslack, I have my opinion on this and RESPECT it! I owned a MB a long time ago and that does not make me biased to MB. Hyundai should take everyone's feedback subjectively if they are smart.

I personally saw nothing wrong with your original post since it reflected what many on here have stated a number of times. That said, having your opinion respected does not mean it won't be disagreed with. These forums are for discussions, and many times disagreements, about what people post. (y)

Edit: The 3.5t will be well below the specs of the X5M and the GLE63. If the originally leaked performance stats were true, it will be in the 5.7 0-60 range.

Let's wait and see what Hyundai/Genesis will do next.

I just built a 2020 GLE350 with the turbo 4.

Leather, burmester sound, heated and cooled seats, mbux w HUD, front massaging seats for both passenger and driver, full tech of safety features, 360 camera ,20 inch wheels for $68K. That is only $3K more than the GV80 2.5T prestige. That's where I think they played it a little too close to the Germans.

The GV80 does have the 22inch wheels vs the 20s on the GLE.
