iOS 13.4 (beta) contains references to a “CarKey” API, which will make it possible to use the iPhone and also the Apple Watch to unlock, lock, and start a car. According to the system’s internal files, users will be able to use CarKey in NFC-compatible cars, as they only need to hold the device near the vehicle to use it as a key.

Brilliant. It's about time. I would have thought long and hard about leaving Apple (been with them since day one) as I have issue with their synching and quality of keyboards (they replaced my whole computer already (but enough about apple)).

It makes sense, but they rarely do.

And for those of us who didn't make it to the Genesis Invitational, this gives a good overview of how Genesis did their set-up featuring the launch of the GV80 (Eng subs).

I'm sure I'm missing it, but.... I've seen nothing in terms of 1st and 2nd-row specs (headroom, legroom, side...). Of course, we know from videos there's ZERO room in the 3rd row. Does anyone have those measurements in inches?????

I think all these specs will be very, very close to X5, except cargo area behind 2nd row is 10% bigger in GV.

Larger than X5? Wow, that's nice. The X5 isn't small. What about vs the Q7 or GLE SUV not coupe?

I had the same question from my viewer few days back, so went in today and checked it out myself!

The US spec Palisade doesn’t have the LED in the tailgate. Could you tell us how third row legroom compares to the Palisade other reviewers have mentioned it’s significantly smaller than the Hyundai. Was hoping it isn’t reserved for kids only, but functional for adults as well.

I wanted to leave a comment with an answer, apologies it took some time. I went into a dealership today, and tested out all your questions myself! 1. As for Palisade's LED in the tailgate, double check, because I found out that it is an option only available on the highest trim. GV80's highest trim still does not offer LED anyway. 2. I sat in the 3rd row of both cars, and Palisade offers much more head room, while in GV80, I had to either bend my neck or stretch my head backwards to avoid touching the roof of the car. (I'm 5'8") Both feel like sitting in a back seat of a 2 door coupe, but Palisade provided a bit more space in all directions compared to the GV80(except for the head room). Pushing 2nd row seats all the way back and fully tilted, Palisade offered slightly more leg room yet overall "feeling" of the seat is similar. Palisade's 3rd row offered a USB outlet, while GV80 had an individual A/C.

Seems like he likes the X5 and Range Rover better, but I think he mentioned the RR's problems. Heck, if I lease, I don't really care too much about that stuff. So many questions, lol... he went on about the air purification and I really was hoping that was coming to the US, but we will have to see.

It's all guess work as auto real time translate isn't great. LR RR owners buy them once because the ride is so good, but they don't buy again due to all of the problems. But the ride is second to none. The GV80 22, even the 20s, ride hard for an 88M kwn vehicle, so he wouldn't consider it at that price level until they add air suspension. BMW has a much better ride with the 2 axle air suspension. Not surprising.

Now the thing about air suspension is durability if you are keeping longer than 3 years... So I'm a bit torn. Better ride, sure, but how much to replace them? 4 or 5K? Durability is worse in NE US climates due to cold winters.

....and I'm in New England, lol. If I lease, I may need to think about the RR. I was over there a few weeks ago and loved the interior. I've never driven one I don't think.

Air suspension is the one thing no single manufacturer can make long-lasting. Even Lexus air suspensions still blow out within 10 years. I somewhat admire Genesis for sticking with coil springs for longevity, but obviously it will never beat air ride.

It's interesting how a lot of the features that people here are upset that the Genesis doesnt't have (air suspension, massage seats, etc) were standard on the Hyundai Equus from a decade ago, which sells at a fraction of the price of a Genesis. Genesis can add those in if they want to with no effort, but they deliberately choose not to.

Probably cost them too much to support with their 5 year/60k mIke warrant. Lexus doesn’t have to worry about that.

That makes a lot of sense. He did show in the video how there is plenty of space to add that at some point. I have to say, I do like how you can raise and lower the Land Rover and Merc GLE 450. I"m also wondering what the 0-60 time will be as well as how torque'y it is. (made up word, lol)

Rubbish excuse, I don't buy it. It's the same warranty as on the Equus. Especially on something as mechanically simple as massage seats.

Genesis is doing this because they have something against air suspension and massage seats.
