  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi All: :)
As a long time lurker I'm about to purchase a 2010 V6 Tech Genesis. I have a few questions for those of you that may have used the HAPP program to purchase your Genesis. Also for those of you in the Houston, TX area that purchased through the program what dealer did you use and how would you rate your experience?

How well did you estimated invoice pricing match the dealer HAPP pricing?

Did the dealer follow all instructions pertaining to the HAPP program?
* Dealer Invoice
* Less 3% of MSRP
* Less Current Consumer Rebate (if any)
* Less Applicable Dealer Rebate or Incentive (if any)
* Plus Freight
* Plus Advertising Fee

Did the dealer try and add extra fees to their HAPP invoice?

What pit falls if any would you advise someone to look out for?

On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate you overall experience with the HAPP program compared to the traditional purchase of an car?

A big thanks in advance to all.

I am in the same position, am located in Rochester NY and would appreciate learning about HAPP purchase experiences anywhere, but particularly in my area.

Folks,

I've only recently found this Genesis-related forum. I'm strongly considering a loaded V6 (probably a 2010 based on the suspension forum). How do you qualify for HAPP pricing? Thanks in advance for your help.

Dave

HAPP = Hyundai Associate Purchase Program. Generally available to people who either are or know someone who is associated with Hyundai Motors America (supplier, dealer, etc.). Also available to members of the Hyundai Think Tank, which is an invitation-only group.

I am a member of the Think Tank. Didn't know that was a perk.

Thanks, Dataguy

Fyi there's a whole forum on dealer experience, so be sure to check that out.

By the way, they've bumped the discount off invoice price from 2% of MSRP to 3% of MSRP, which is what it was when I joined last summer. Nice!

All I did to become a Think Tank member was go to their web site and answer some basic questions. Based on the questions, I don't know who they would turn down. It would be nice if they had HAPP pricing on the Equus.

I'm also a Think Tank member, what is the Think Tank code to use on the www.hyundaiapp.com website? Did you receive it in the mail or did you generate it somehow? In order to generate a profile you need a CID- XXXX number? What is the CID- XXXX for Think Tank members?

When you are logged into The Think Tank look at the top tabs select the news & media option.
There you will see the Hyundai Associate Purchase Program select that than the view documents selection. On the document page you should see you CID number.
Use that number to generate a claim form from http://hyundaiapp.com/APPInstructions.asp.

I just checked the Think Tank HAAP information page and it says "Due to the high demand of the Genesis Coupe, the Genesis Coupe has been removed from the APP until further notice." I guess that's pretty good news for coupe sales. Unless the Equus really flops, I doubt we'll be seeing HAAP pricing for Think Tank members for that car.

Folks anywhere near Cleveland should know that Great Lakes Hyundai has several '09s priced at well under HAPP pricing. At least that's my calculation...is anyone from GLH (which has advertised on this forum) able to confirm this?
