  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have been driving rotarys for 25 years. The 09 RX-8 brought no significant improvements over my 04 RX-8. Unless Mazda comes out with the 1.6l Rotary in the RX-8, I am going to switch. I have been looking at the Infinity G37s and the Coupe Track 3.8. I wanted to know if anyone has switched from the Rx-8 to the Coupe. The RX-8 lacks power, but is one of the best handling cars I have driven.

I was actually wondering this myself. I have several friends that love rx7s/rx8s so this has come up in discussion.

For my 2 cents I was looking at G37s myself, back in December I almost leased a 2008 G37S $2000 down $412/month, the coupe ended up winning me over with the mod potential.

I caught the new RX 8 on Motorweek a couple weeks ago, the only thing that has changed is that it has gotten slower......That is a great car with a weak powerplant. I wanted one until I drove it.....Got Torque? Hell no!

Don't take offense to this...... nothing personal......The last Gen RX7 was 10 x the car....;)

Welcome aboard, Mr. Corbitt! Thank you for signing up!

I have gone from rx8 to evo..rather a radical change lol..
I would consider 2.0t track version and mod it to about 350whp.
You will be MUCH happier.

I agree I have had all three gen RX-7. My third gen was won of the most impressive cars I have driven. The 8 spoild me with having 4 seats. So now my replacement will be a 4 seat sports car.

The back seats are a defniate plus....and very useable in the RX 8.....My Dream car is a Brand New RX8 with an LS1 or LS2 in it from the factory:) If Mazda would throw the V8 from the Mustang GT in it I'd be all over that too.....

I test drove a new 93 back in my Mid 20s.....I elected against it because I knew I'd end up dead or in Jail....My father agreed, I took him with me. I had a 91 NA mr2 at the time, which I still have to this day

I'll be moving from my 2004 RX-8 to the new 2.0 GT once i find one here in Atlantic Canada.

I have a 2004 RX8 that is one of the best handing cars I have ever driven. The car revs so nicely I barely mind the lack of torque.

I plan to keep it and am leaning towards a Genesis Coupe 2.0T manual after I come up with a plan on aftermarket upgrades.

Picked up my Black 2.oT gt last night.

This car as more room up front then my RX-8.
Stll getting a feel for the shifting.
I don't feel as connected to the power as i did in the RX-8 but I do like the sound.

Internal Finish is as nice as the 8 the red cloth inserts are nicer than expected and more comfortable. My 8 had the Red and black Leather.

Thanks

The handling of the RX-8 is outstanding. And the rear seat is much more usable than that in the Genesis Coupe. I'm a huge fan of these cars.

But the Genesis has major advantages in other areas, beginning with the V6's torque. Feels more solid and luxurious, with better seats. Essentially a GT vs. a sports car, two different animals.
