If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Has anyone purchased a steering wheel emblem?

It's completely different from the actual airbag cover. The airbag cover's wing is probably the same size (big!) as the wing for the hood, but imbedded in the airbag cover. Looks awesome, but I'm unwilling to pay that price.

the Genesis logo over the stock H symbol looks good. IMO it's not great, but for my taste it's worth putting on for sure.

Ok, I broke down and bought and installed the actual new airbag cover with the Genesis emblem and it looks stunning:D

After having the stick on logo on the wheel, I got so fed up with how tacky it looked after a while and am SUPER glad I chose to spend the $245 with shipping on the new airbag. Looks high-end just like the car is supposed to look. Thanks to MADMOE's instal tips, it was a breeze!

I won't post a pic, since we've all seen what the airbag cover looks like

I don't think there's any question that the KDM airbag cover looks much better than either the crooked H or the aftermarket genesis emblem. But between the high cost and my paranoia that the airbag might not deploy correctly, I decided to go with the aftermarket stick-on. It gave me quite a bit of pause when they had to re-program the airbag firing timing on my earlier model 3.8, and I don't want to risk warranty problems or having to find out whether your head really does hit the wheel during a deployment.

A minor pause was the warning in the owner's manual about not putting things on the airbag cover, lest they cause injury during a deployment. I figure that a light, smooth, puffy sticker is not going to kill me, but trying to mod the hood emblem would not only look jury rigged but seems to be theoretically more likely to hurt. YMMV.

That being said, while the aftermarket emblem looks nice, it doesn't have quite the wow factor as the external badging or the Korean airbag. It's too glossy compared to the matte black finish of my wheel (and makes it really hard to take a decent picture of it!). The logo is the least detailed Genesis wing badge I've seen aside from the license plate bolts. And although it fits nicely over the original logo, it's slightly puffed out.

All things being equal though, it's better than not doing it. Just make sure you put it on straight, since it will stick hard where ever you originally put it. I'd hate to have to look at a crooked badge every day, especially if I knew I put it on wrong.

An alternative is that you could have the dealer install the airbag cover and it is still has the warranty either way. The dealer didn't know what to charge me, so I told them that people on here were paying $39 to have it done at their dealer, but I did it myself and it probably took all of 10 minutes to complete it.

Any instructions on how to complete this DIY will be much appreciated.

MADMOE explained how to change it, and I'm glad I did it myself.

1st disconnect the battery by removing the positive cable. Than disconnect the wire harness for the negative terminal.

Now, there are two bolts/screws on the side of the steering column that need to be removed. Use a star tool/allen wrench (I went through all my flat head screwdrivers to find one that would work for this) Once removed, you can lift the cover off pretty easy.

Than, disconnect those two wire harnesses that attach to the airbag.

At this point just plug the new air bag in with the wire harness (plastic snaps) sticking out of the wheel, making sure they're in correctly.

Next, put the bolts back in the steering column once you've placed the cover on properly.

When you connect your battery back make sure you connect your positive terminal first and than snap that wire harness back in for the negative terminal.

You're now complete!

I did purchase the "Wing" emble for the steering and I love it! Even my cousin (who drives a 2009 Jag XF, and was quite skecticle) likes it.

I already had installed the "Wing" trunk emblem, hubcabs 18".

Got to 6,142 miles and so far NOTHING has gone wrong, will be trying (if the freaking rain stops in Miami) to do the 6,000 mile check up, but, not at the dealer, will be doing with synthetic oil at a place close to my cousin's house.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Genesis!

Can anyone recommend none-ebay online store that sells 'sticker-wings'?

open your door you will see a "water mark" "H" on the lower right. Also don't forget all the little "H"'s on the glass. I too have covered all the "H"'s i can but the glass really bugs me. I refuse to wing the hood but I am looking for a EQUIS hood ornement

Has anyone tried to just take of the H on the steering wheel instead of putting the emblem over it? It looks like it just held on with sticky tape. Am i wrong in thinking of this? I have my emblems coming and I thought I could actually remove the H.

Let me know. Thanks

It has been tried by one of our members. NOT a pretty task. Can't recall where the post is, but as I recall, it is much more than glued in place. It is like heat inserted into the airbag plastic.

CURSE KAI!!!!! They're a rip off and on top of that, you would be even lucky to receive your order;)

Wow! I'm exactly the opposite. I'd give them 5 of 5 stars all around. Sorry to hear you had problems.

Does that steering wheel emblem go over the H or do you have to remove the H?

Did this just fit directly on top of the H?

I used to have the stick on emblem, and it goes directly over the flying H. Don't waste your time removing it since you can make the new emblem fit worse, just stick it over the stock H.

If you have looked at my pictures, the one showing my steering wheel is the new airbag/cover. I didn't care for the stick on emblem after a few months and bought the real deal.

Either way, they're both a good choice

Just put the steering wheel emblem on over the H, doesn't look bad, fits nice, no complaints.
