  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has anyone with a 2009 or 2010 updated the Nav units and been able to get the "upload phone book" option, if you didn't have prior to updating?

I know that somewhere in the 2010s some (like mine) don't have the ability to upload the entire phone book where as some of the 2010s (I'm talking about the 4.6L w/Tec package) have that ability and had it all along.

I'm just trying to find out if I would get the ability to upload my cellphone's entire contacts list if I were to spend the $345 to do the update. Hope this makes sense to y'all. :o

I have a 2009 tech and no software update will allow to upload all of the contacts as I'm limited by an ealier bluetooth hardware version. Not sure about the 2010s

You need to be careful with the definitions.

"Updating the nav" could me simply a map update or it could mean a firmware update. It sounds like the firmware update is what you need.

I did a map update a few months ago but I didn't notice any new or modified features of the nav unit afterward so I am thinking they may be two different processes. Best to ask before committing though.

My car is a 2012 R-spec and the nav update might be different than earlier years.

landtuna, you hit the nail on the head. However, I'm fairly sure that getting any update that will allow the bluetooth uploading of the entire contacts list from a cell phone is not going to happen.

I just may put this on my service advisor to get this information. :)
