  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Have you seen any/many Genesis on the streets?

Downtown Chicago in the same parking garage I use on occassion there are two Black Genesis Sedans that use the same facility. One is a 4.6. The other is a 3.8. Both have the flying H. My coworker bought one (3.8 Platinum Silver) and I saw a either Titanium or Platinum Silver one in a driveway in Lombard, IL one block off of hwy 38 near Edgewood.

I am seeing enough of them now around Chicago that the urge to drive up next to the person driving and yell out the window "Hey do you frequent the Genesisowners.com website" has been reduced :).

Response: Have you seen any/many Genesis on the streets?

After owning mine for 5 months, I saw my first one parked in the garage of a house I was showing. Wow! What a surprise!
That owner loves his too!:p

Saw one heading north on I-35 between Austin and Fort Worth right at the 35 east west split. We waved at each other as I haven't seen many others and from the looks of it either had he :). If that was you, Hey :).

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Within in one week of getting mine a neighbor a few blocks over got one too. Prior to that I had only seen 1 on the roads here in southern NJ.

Hollywood, CA. They aren't as ubiquitous as say 3 series, honda accord or toyota camry. But I have seen many of them. I definitely have had some people stare at the car trying to figure out what it was. (Especially since I rebadged the trunk). Every time someone gets in the car the response is the same. This is a HYUNDAI? I had no idea they were so nice.

I saw one black genesis in Atlana close to Emory University yesterday.

I have seen only 1 other genesis in the entire Seattle area since I got mine.
I am amused at the looks and double takes I get from Caddy, MB and other drivers. I can't tell you how many people come up and ask me what kind of car I'm driving (mine is a completely rebadged 4.6 titanium gray) at least three people thought it was a Bentley or Aston Martin with the badge. People are shocked when I tell them its a Hyundai. I even had a body shop owner tell me what an absolute superb paint job is on it and what a cool color it is.

It pays to be unique sometimes. :)
I'm glad not to be the typical run of the mill luxury car guy.

I own a silver 4.6 and live in Charleston, S.C. I have only seen one around town. We did spot another down in Key West a few months ago. That was a lovely drive. The Genesis is a superb I-95 highway machine.

WAGunner - I couldn't agree with you more, i am the exact same way, i had a 2002 RL that looked good but different at the time, most people thought it was a Lexus LS400,lol now when i drive my Genesis 3.8 Black with rebadging i can't tell you the amount of people who come up and ask me what kind of car i am driving. You're right, someone asked me last week if I'm driving a baby Bentley, lol

I literally hadn't seen any here in Northern California, and then the last two days on our morning walks, my wife & I saw two ... both inside our gated housing development.

One was champagne, same color as mine, and the other was jet black. Neither had plates yet, so clearly both pretty new!

I still haven't seen one...

odometer is ~4700

Just saw my first Gennie parked on High Street in Portsmouth, VA, as I was driving by on 6/2/09. Champagne metallic, couldn't tell whether it was the 3.8 or 4.6. I don't feel so much like the Lone Ranger now!

I've seen 3 in one day, after those 3 havn't seen 1.

and no coupes either in my area.

I live in Montreal. I got my Genesis on August 30th 2008. For the first 8 months I didn't see a single Genesis, but in the last 2-3 weeks I've come across six of them.

I've seen two in Nashville, TN in the past few months

I just bought mine (Black on Black, V8 with everything) and have only seen one on the road in NE Philly. I stopped the driver, he bought at the same dealer as me. They say that only 8,000 were to be sold in the US this year. Good or bad? Collector's item or what?
I love it so far, let the honeymoon continue for a long time...

I saw 3 others this week. Parked a couple cars down from a dark one with Wings on hood, in Weston, beginning of the week. Passed a Black one visiting family in Boca, near Yamato and Military, mid week. And, parked near a Black V6 with rear Wing, by Monkey Joe's in Sunrise, on Saterday.

Methinks that you either misheard them or they misspoke.

The Genesis passed 8,000 in sales for the year in May [discount a few hundred sales for the coupe and the sedan will surpass 9,000 units sold by the end of June (half the year) and not that far off the pace that Hyundai set for sales of the sedan prior to economic downturn).

We've just returned from a 45-day, 10,500-mile, coast-to-coast driving vacation through 24 states, on everything from interstates to gravel roads, city and country, and have seen none at all. Also, it was only at day 40 that we saw anyone look twice at our Genesis, much less say anything. We like it that way--blend in, don't attract attention and take private enjoyment of this well-appointed living space on wheels.
