  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Have you seen any/many Genesis on the streets?

No comparison, really. From an owner's standpoint, the Prius is a much superior vehicle. If you had owned one of each you would understand.

And as for mileage, your attitude is one reason for so much drilling. Thanks, BP!

HOWEVER, I really just wanted to know if there was anything stylistically unique to the Genesis that would allow me to easily identify one on the road from a short distance - not close enough to see something that reads "Genesis." In my garage the car looks so COMMON, whereas the Prius has a very distinctive roofline. (Not that that alone makes the Prius BETTER, just more readily IDENTIFIABLE.)

So what does one recognize about a car just prior to saying "there's a Genesis?"

Thanks, and I didn't intend to get off subject.

I admit that I have never driven a Prius.
But what makes it a "much superior vehicle"? Really, I'm interested in listening to your opinion.
I know the latest generation Prius has some cool features like solar panel on the roof to charge the battery, etc. but never thought that it'll be that better in terms of ownership experience.

I had a chance to drive a production-ready prototype Chevy VOLT, and it really was a unique experience.
I liked it a lot, but not up to the point where I'd replace my Genesis with it.

As for the gas mileage comment, that came out wrong. I didn't mean that I condone excessive drilling nor do I not care about environment.

The Prius, every generation, is one of the most horrid cars I've ever driven. The 3rd gen is better, but it is far from fun to drive imo.

You don't buy it for fun to drive however, you buy it for economy (and so others can see you in it). It excels at that.

I live in the Nashville area. I have had my Genesis 3.8 for 4 months. I've never seen another Genesis, except on the dealer's lot.

In North and Central New Jersey it is certainly not rare or unusual to see another Genesis on a daily basis. There are atleast 2 dealers in central Jersey with 5-7 cars on their lot, V6. The North Jersey dealer I bought mine from regularly has 6-10 Sedans on their lot, usually nearly all V6.

As others have said it depends where you live.

I just returned from a 770 round trip from Moncton NB to Kingston Ontario and I only saw one Genesis v6 in Montreal Quebec.

I've owned my 2010 Sedan for 2 months now, shopped for a new car for 1 month. Last 3 months I have saw 1 Sedan on the road here in north east Florida and no Coupes. Maybe there all in central or south Florida :D

Bought my 3.8 Sedan in April 2010, and I've only seen one on the road since then. After a full rebadging (hood, trunk, wheels, steering wheel) and removing the "GENESIS" letters from the back of the car, I repeatedly get puzzled looks from other drivers and people walking by as they try to figure out what it is. Every person at work asked what I bought in a "what the heck is it?" kind of way. And yep, one guy at work even started spreading the rumor that I'd purchased a Bentley. Funny, but I enjoy sowing confusion amongst the hoardes.

I was driving to work today and I saw a Genesis coming from behind me. As it passed me I noticed that it had the wings on the back, I was astonished as I hadn't seen another with the wings. Then I noticed it also had the same license plate as mine has...it was my wife...way to kill my buzz dear :(

Oh, you must have been in the Tahoe!

Just did a round trip from Orlando to Houston to attend our granddaughter's graduation. Spent six days in the Pearland-Friendswood area. Never saw another Genesis at any time during the trip.

Finally, on Thursday I saw the second Genesis in this area, have been looking for past 3 months. This on was dark blue and had Wings on trunk and hood. What a pleasure it was to ride up beside him with mine. I was on the way home from work on I-95N. I'm guessing he was just traveling through Jacksonville but he did have a Florida tag. I'm sure we will start to see more on the road soon..:D

Saw a beautiful black one in Pensacola, Florida, a couple of weeks ago and I saw one yesterday in Enid, Oklahoma! I have a rented Town Car and it is plush but does not have the refinement of my Genesis. Low power and doors that need a shove to close. It is a boat and a highway cruiser which is okay in Oklahoma. I like the way the parking brake disengages when in drive, much better than my 09 Genesis with the foot release.

Anxious to get back to my Genesis.

I pass the Hyundai dealership every day on the way to work , other wise I have not seen any.Any one out there from Oregon ? I live in the Oregon City area . Unlike the my 1998 Camery I traded in , I have not seen another Genesis. I wondered how may have sold in Oregon , any one know how I would find that out ? No matter .

Before I bought my 2010 on 21 Nov, I saw a few in the Chicago area. None since then, even though I make about 2 trips/mo from home here in Rockford 75 mi back to Chicago. Left Rockford June 19, drove 1526 miles to D.C. then to Midland MI, arriving June 1. First Genesis I saw was in Midland--my brother's. None since.

I just bought one and the very next day I see the first one I've ever seen on the road. It was rebadged too. Maybe I just never paid attention before.

Welcome! :welcome:

On June 10, I reported that on a 9 day roadtrip and visit, Orlando-Houston, I saw not one Genesis.

Tonight, I got home from a 2000 mile trip from Orlando to southern Indiana and back...Again, not one other Genesis on the road!

I don't know about this site sometimes. I went to Philly International and parked my other car at the door of the first floor parking garage in "D" and there was a beautiful, light blue Genesis V8. Not sure why you all never see any other Genesis's around town but there are out there.

Being out there, and actually seeing are two different stories. I guess we have to have faith...
