The AV information is displayed intermittently, such as when changing stations but not all the time.

shows the AV info for XM that I've noticed. Nothing for Carplay, and I don't know about OTA radio, I haven't tuned into an OTA station in 8 years.

Shows FM/Am frequency for a clfew seconds then disappear. Don't notice speed limit info, maybe I turned it off.

What about song title of MP3 (such as when one selects a different track)?
I like that Hyundai's HUD includes blind spot warning--one can abort lane-changing even BEFORE signaling or looking over the shoulder.

It doesn't include song title information from any source.

Song info is one thing I wish it had. On my F10 5 series, when you scroll through songs on your phone using the steering wheel you can see the list on the HUD. It made it really easy to select a song. Worked with the CD player as well.

Song info is one thing I wish it had. On my F10 5 series, when you scroll through songs on your phone using the steering wheel you can see the list on the HUD. It made it really easy to select a song. Worked with the CD player as well.

Media remote controls on steering wheel generally fall into two types--toggle/button to skip to the next/previous track, or wheel to scroll up/down track list for selection. Looks like Hyundai/Genesis' is of the former.

I think there can easily be too much stuff in the HUD. Once it gets beyond speedo and basic nav (upcoming turn, etc.) it starts becoming a distraction in spite of the fact it's in your line of sight.

Like a fighter jet.

Actually, future automotive HUD's will look nothing like the picture above. For example, instead of just showing a static warning light for pedestrian, the indicator will show the position/location of the hazard and follow it on the windshield (instead of being limited to a 8-10" area). See the two videos below:

That's why there is an "off" option. Kidding aside, HUD is both a convenience and safety feature. People used to scoff at power steering/brakes, ABS, traction control, NAVI, smart phones, you name it...now most people can't imagine living without them. Perspectives change with time, so does lifestyle.

I agree. It is a very useful feature. You can check the speed limit, distance to next turn, and blind spot all without your eyes leaving the road.

I use it all the time, but then, I do have the dealer installed Gatling Gun. easy to aim and no worries about road rage.

People used to scoff at anti-lock brakes, ABS, etc.? Are you serious? Which planet was that?
