My neighbour here in Canada who purchased a 2015 Tech model (after seeing mine) just replaced a headlight bulb which had gone dim. The total cost of the replacement by the dealer was about $400 with about $115 representing the cost of the bulb and the balance for labour as he was told the front bumper had to be removed to access the bulb. His vehicle has about 22,000 km. on it and is 16 months old. Hyundai's warranty appears to exclude bulbs after 12 months. This seems an outrageous amount, particularly if we can expect bulb failures at such an early stage.
I did some on-line searching and found some posts that suggested bumper removal was not required, but those posts may have referred to Generation 1 models. Does anyone know for certain whether bumper removal is really required for such a pedestrian repair on our Generation 2 sedans? Has anyone else experienced this?
