  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello. New here.

I want it to sit a bit lower. It would look REALLY good then.

Quite possibly a 2026 G70?? lol
Not sure. Maybe a BMW M340i? Maybe even an suv?
I wonder if the 2026 G70 will be all electric by then... The M340i is quite nice. Maybe a GV70?

Yeah,......we're a far ways a way. Anything electric will not be for me. Hard pass.
Who knows, I could end up keeping this car as well.

I'm not ready for electric either. I'd consider a EV as a second car if I needed one, though.

I'll be brutally honest with you Sal,........I'll never own an EV. Unless the government makes it so expensive to own an ICE vehicle that they force everyone to buy EV. It's just not for me. I like to hear the exhaust and feel the vibrations of the rumble. I mean,........you've seen my other car. It sounds and feels awesome.

HA HAAAAAAAA
I always do this. If there are no parking spots in the lot that I have to go to,........I seriously drive to the next closest lot. lol
No scratches or dings for me thank you very much! :ROFLMAO::LOL:
But then some idiot drives in and parks right next to you when there are tens if not hundreds of closer spaces.

Have you driven one? Felt the acceleration?

Never has happened to me, thank God.
I only pick the end spots, way out so if they park next to me, it's only on one side. But, I have been lucky thus far.

Never have, never will. I heard it's soulless. It's not for me.
I know they are fast, but my Mustang with over 700HP/610TQ is fast as well.

I know what you mean. Just like I like to "feel" music. I do appreciate the rumble and the feel of the engine. I think like most things, there are two ways of looking at the idea of EVs. I hope this doesn't turn into one of those topics that become "divisional" in the community - but I don't care for the feel of electric either.

Yes, Murphy's Law...

That's what I do. I park one town away and take a taxi to the door. :p

You heard? Some of life's greatest pleasure happen in silence.

Just gave her a nice rinseless wash. Wow, such a beautiful, beautiful car.

Even when I was in for the oil change two weeks ago, I was browsing the inventory at the dealership and the used G70s still look amazing. My eyes kept going back to them. lol

I have a feeling the G70 is going to be one of those cars that's sought after many years from now. It just checks so many boxes...

I agree.
You get a lot for the 'bang for your buck' value. Great car overall.

Never say never 😉
I'm a 68 year old, lifelong gearhead, and I've got some pretty sporty ICE cars, but we've had an AWD EV6 for almost a year now and I absolutely love it. It may be quiet, but that strong, seamless, quiet torque is nice and quite addictive. I'm not talking about just hard, straight line acceleration, but just normal, everyday driving.
Not trying to be divisive, but give one a try! 😊
(That doesn't mean I don't still love the sound of a nice ICE, but I've surprised myself at how much I enjoy driving the EV6.) Peace.

Ya know... There IS something to be said about a car that's silent... It means you don't attract attention when you want it - but also when you don't want it. So there's that...

I bet, one day, they'll figure out a way to inject that raw feeling into EVs. As an option - for those who want it. A rumble that you can feel - and hear, inside and out... I think that would be a real game changer...

The Ioniq 5 N is a good first step. Have you watched any road or track test videos of it? The "virtual" gearbox (and sound) is actually pretty convincing, and gives the car a lot more character.

I haven't, but I'm glad they went there! That's a good step in the right direction. I'm going to start a separate topic about this kind of thing as I'd love to hear what other people think about it.

The universal opinion of all the auto journalists/drivers that I've seen and read is that at first they think it's kind of a goofy idea, but then they find it quite engaging and fun to drive (especially the virtual gears). The sounds are obviously a little harder to make realistic, and I don't know if they use a sub-woofer to give any rumbling feel.

That subwoofer idea would probably work for the rumble... And, hey, if we can make movies look realistic, I think we can manage to make the sound realistic. We're just not there yet. :)

Back on track,..................
