  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a 2009 3.8 sedan. Recently there has been a large (2.0 amp) drain on the battery with everything turned off. I checked all the circuits and found the drain on the 10 amp fuse labeled Body Unit 2 (in the fuse box below the dash on the drivers side). When I pull that fuse the drain disappears but the doors don't lock/unlock electrically. I don;t know where to go from here and need help.
One possible clue: Recently the lights stopped blinking when locking the doors with the key fob. They blink normally when unlocking the doors with the key fob.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Classic symptom of missing rubber stopper on the under-hood alarm switch. The blinker flash confirmation is not occurring because the IPM (aka BCM) detects the problem, and it is telling you that the alarm is "not ready" to arm, because it thinks the hood is not closed.

See here: battery draining when car in garage, is a parasidic draw my problem?

Thank you Gunkk. It worked! I simply opened the hood and disconnected the connector on the hood open button and Voila! Issue resolved.
