  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have looked on several forums and have seen lots of people with the same issue(s) I have. Some folks have gotten the issues resolved and some have not. Here is a description of my issue;

I get echo on almost every call with my Bluetooth with multiple phones. The head unit has been replaced and now the DIS has failed, dealer is going to replace DIS on Monday. There are other strange anomalies with the Head unit in my car as well things like not showing the radio stations, changing input on its own, popping from the speaker when using the phone…

The Hyundai Northeastern regional office is a real pain in the “A#@” to deal with. Every issue I have had with my car was deemed “operating as designed” and trust me there have been many. I have had to push resolution of the issues to the boiling point and low and be hold all my issues were fixed except this one. Guess the car wasn’t “operating as designed”.

I’m looking for help from the greater owner community. What I need is for anyone that has had this issue or something similar resolved to send me the following;

• Dealership name
• Dealership phone number
• You’re Service Order Number that fixed the issue

I am planning on giving this information to the Hyundai Northeast regional office as well as California so they can get my issue fixed. After all I have spent so much time and energy getting issues resolved on my Genesis that I would really hate to get rid of the car and by the way except for the issue the car is GREAT!!!!!!

Thanks in Advance …Doug

Doug,

Sorry to hear about your headaches with Hyundai. On a separate note, my wife has a Vera Cruz with an Ipod attachment put in by Hyundai. It did not work. Hyundai (a different dealership) initially said it was not a Hyundai part, but after inspecting it, said it was theirs and replaced it - and did not check it for working operation after the install. The replacement did not work.

We took it back and Hyundai at large said the problem was the radio/Cd changer, which they ordered and replaced yesterday - the Ipod attachment still did not work. They are now back to the Ipod attachment not working and another needing replacement - it's an FM modulated attachment rather than a direct wire in thing. I have gague checked the thing and it really has poor connections at the plug-in location jack, and was designed and made poorly. I believe it is the jack, lack of good connection that is causing the problem, and I demonstrated that to Huyundai. They tell me they have no iPods to check the thing after they install the thing! ... so they barrow mine.

Back to your issue. I have had great blu-tooth phone calls, but numberous issues with my voice command being completely unresponsive and on occasion the SDS getting going, what ever that is. I have video taped the problems a number of times and plan on going in next week to have them get the repairs going. Hyundai already has a heads up that I have the issues 'video documented'.

What is the DIS?

MrB0462, Glad to hear you have had a positive engagement with Hyundai. However, I have not. I approached them every way possible and they are of no help. The person in charge should be removed from his position. The only way I get resolution to issues is to call headquarters in California after months of no response to me or the dealership I have my car serviced by. Every time there is a problem whit my car he and his staff claim it to be working as designed. After I continue to press the issues the issue gets resolved and there is in fact a problem with my car. Again glad to hear you have had a pleasant experience but I can’t understand why Hyundai chooses to to business this way. You keep buying Hyundai as for me when I’m done with this car I WILL NEVER WALK NEAR A HYUNDA AGAIN.

JDC- Hope you get your issue resolved.

Thanks. Perhaps try another dealership, and let them know when you arrive, why you are trying them out. Little to lose for you, and perhaps you might gain finding a more cooperative service location.

Good luck.

Some phones advertised that work with the car echo when making the call (at least in my experience) Hyundai will offer to pay for any new phone if you push hard enough.
