Nothing is stopping you from plugging your phone in to charge, you just will still be using wireless Carplay/Auto when you do.So, once updated, you can no longer use a cable to connect your phone. So if the wireless charger system fails, or won't work through your favorite phone case, you're SOL.
I think what they mean is that you can not connect AA or Carplay or any data to your car through the cable. Data now will only wirelessly once oou upgrade. It did not say you won't be able to charge through the cable. At least that is my take. So, once updated, you can no longer use a cable to connect your phone. So if the wireless charger system fails, or won't work through your favorite phone case, you're SOL.
My concern is that the quality of wireless audio will not be as good as a using a cable. If you are using high quality audio like Tidal you will probably hear a noticeable difference. Here is the deal on the wireless Android Auto and Car Play
I can't answer that as I have used a wireless device since day one in my GV80. I have no issues with the sound, but people have different ears. Probably there is some on here that can tell us if the music gets any more compressed if it is sent wireless or plugged in. I know back in the day, that was true that wired was better, but from what I understand, that is no longer a factor, but I have no facts to back that up.My concern is that the quality of wireless audio will not be as good as a using a cable. If you are using high quality audio like Tidal you will probably hear a noticeable difference.
