I have a 2013 Sedan w/ HID headlights. Recently, a retread from a semi fell off a truck while I was going down the highway and cracked my driver-side headlight -still functioned fine.
My immediate reaction was to hop on Ebay and get a replacement (dealership wanted $1,500 for HID w/LED). So I pay about $400 and get a used OEM headlight. The problem is that the bulb color doesn't match my other stock HID bulb, and to make matters worse, the Ebay headlight is actually an adaptive xenon, meaning that it pivots in the housing to direct light as you're driving.
I actually prefer the color in the Ebay headlight more (matches LED), so I'm thinking the easiest fix is to use the Ebay headlight and just change the existing yellowish passenger HID to match. The problem is I don't know where to start in terms of buying an HID bulb that would match, and am unsure how to install. I attached some pictures of the Ebay headlight/ballast to provide the specs. You can also see in one of the pics the difference in housing between the adaptive and regualr HID. Any help would be sincerely appreciated!
