  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Dropped the front bumper today and followed the instructions from the video I linked in the previous thread. It was crazy easy. I didn't have nearly the trouble the guy had in the video getting the actual headlight housings out after unscrewing the bolts. I think the 3.8 engine's intake ports were blocking his removal previously and the way they are aligned on the 5.0's is different. I was shocked how fast the process was. I allocated 3 hours away from family today to do this and I was done in an hour and a half.

Also noticed that the original HID's that were in the vehicle were Osram Xenarc's which is good to know that Genesis didn't cheap out on low grade HID bulbs. I'm guessing it's the design of the projector housing or the poor stock headlight aim from the factory that gives people poor illumination. BTW it'll be a while before the new Night Breakers are fully broken in and I can report if they are worth the upgrade over the stock bulbs but so far so good. Next up is replacing the spark plugs!

Pics please. What is the temperature of the new bulbs? I assume the stock bulbs are 4.3K. Night Breakers are suppose to be a whiter color.

Great choice in bulbs by the way. Osram Night breakers should last a long time while being much brighter than stock.

The bulbs are supposed to be 4.3k and it feels like it. Definitely a hotter white and seems warmer than what I originally had but not by much.

I didn’t take pictures or video during the swap because no one commented in the previous post asking for it but I can take a picture tonight of the bulbs on and upload if you’d like?
