  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Starting 20 December 2013, the www.hmaservice.com (aka www.hyundaitechinfo.com) will no longer be free and is moving to a paid subscription based service.

Accessing the website now will show a little pop-up window stating the same.

Get your free info while you can!

Thanks for the warning.

Looks like they are following Mercedes.

Well, that sucks. Thanks for the info - I can verify... just got the same warning message.

They won't get a cent from me. But I'll be downloading whatever I can in the next week - I can guarantee you.

I've used several docs on there: from the OM, to headlight assemblies, to service bulletins... I'm gonna miss not having it for free, though I don't use it religiously.

If I had to guess they probably need to make some extra money because of all the recalls on their vehicles.

Anyone know the price?

Also, I suspect that dealers are complaining about independent shops and DYI'ers being able to make repairs with the info supplied.

They are trying to manage their dealer network more effectively. I'm sure the dealers were not happy about this info being out there for free.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

Another thing I noticed is that about a year ago, the online parts websites (that several different dealers run, apparently with the same software or at least same database), no longer have part numbers in them. They list the part descriptions, but not the part numbers. I think HMA must have told them to remove the part numbers.

Says the price will be given at the time it goes to a paid subscription 12/20/13

Kinda' sucks!!!!

curious, so i went in and had a look. you have to create an account before the site lets you know the cost of things.

  • 1 Week Service Information Access - $20
  • 1 Month Service Information Access - $60
  • 1 Year Service Information Access - $300
  • Re-flash J-2534 (per download) - $75
  • Locksmith (Per VIN) - $12

too rich for my blood - and too bad they decided to change this to a per-fee thing. it was the only thing that allowed me to keep my dealer honest.

That is about what the Mercedes site charges. Guess Hyundai sees a way to make money.

Ain't it the truth!! If push comes to shove and I really need to verify something, I'll drop the $20 just to protect my own arse, otherwise I'll just leave it alone.
