Home screen freezes up

Just purchased 2021 GV80 1 week ago...and yep sure enough....Sirius XM is frozen up, can't change channels, not even to a radio station.

Well, you're in luck... Just read through this thread and you will have your solution... A few possibilities.... --- But if I were in your shoes after a 1 week purchase, I'd let the dealer that sold it 'own' this problem.
 
I bought a new GV80 about 45 days ago. I don't use SIrius XM, although i have the 3 month trial. Didn't have any issues for the first 30 days, then i did the update. I don't think it can be described as an issue, but an annoying occurance. Every time i start the car, i get a notification 'featured favorites updated' with a notification of Sirius XM with 3 buttons, 'Listen', 'Call', 'Close'. I can hit close and it goes away but it pops up again after a few seconds. This happens every time i start my car. Is there a way to disable the notification? I don't listen to XM and have no intentions of buying a subscription.
 
The 14.10 upgrade is very buggy/poor. I've done 4 previous updates with no issues. Subsequent to installing 14.10 last week, I can switch to/play XMSirius radio. 5 to 10 minutes later channel controls (screen, jog or steering wheel switch) become unresponsive. I can switch to other sources (AM/FM etc.) and sound/controls work. Attempting to switch back to SiriusXM sound to goes away for 10 seconds, screen does not switch to XMSirius and it returns to original source (e.g. FM radio) and FM audio resumes. Stopping car for 5 minutes and restart restores XMSirius functionality, but issue re-occurs. Pushing the DIS/Navigation reset button is on my troubleshooting to do list.

I also notice the screen periodically returns to home screen without any input from me.

I had this problem. Same model. Tried replacing the radio first. No luck. It is an issue between Sirius and the software. I changed my Sirius subscription to music only and it was fixed.

I had the same problem. Replaced the radio. No help. It is a problem the new software has with Sirius. I changed my Sirius subscription to music only, omitting all other services like traffic, data etc. Problem solved.
 
Hello, my display keeps restarting all the time. Tried reset from button, removal of fuses, but did not work. It does show backup camera when i put in reverse. Anybody had this problem and know how to resolve? 2015 5.0 ultimate

I posted this once but I don't see it so here it is again. I have a 2018 g80 sport. Had these same problems . Changed radio. No help. The problem is the current Genesis software has a conflict with Sirius. Change your Sirius subscription to audio content only without any data such as weather, traffic etc. Problem solved.

I am out of USA, did not even had any sirius subscribtion, it does not work at all here. The screen is stuck on logo and restarts after every 25-30 seconds. Though radio is working but you can not change channels, only volume.

Just took delivery on my 2021 G80 Yesterday. was on my way home and just a few miles from the dealer when Navi locked up. Returned to the dealer immediately and they said it needs an update. Gave me a loaner (G70) and I await the return of my car later today.
Will try and post my outcome.

My new 2022 GV70's map and navigation have frozen twice. Car has only driven 2,000 miles. A few days ago, it froze as I was in the middle of a new area and I could not get even the map to work. First time, the car was new and the dealer reset it. Guess I can try to do the reset myself. Going to the dealership every 1,000 miles seems a pain in the you know what. From this string, it seems that Genesis cannot fix this issue.

They (Sirius XM actually) certainly fixed the issue this thread is about on mine.
 
As many of you know from this thread, the temporary fix back in February was to suspend the SiriusXM Travel Link/Traffic subscriptions until they came out with a permanent fix. People were told many different variations as to how they will be reimbursed for the outage and hassle.

Well, today I received a letter from SiriusXM apologizing for the interruption in service with my Hyundai and gave me a $55 SiriusXM service credit to be applied towards future billings.

Glad they finally came around to compensating after the debacle earlier this year. I only had 3 months left on my complimentary subscription anyways so $55 seems fair IMO.
 
I believe I am having the same slow screen response/freezing with my 2015 3.8 Ultimate and of course I had the 100k extended warranty but now have 115k on it. I do not have XM. Should I do the rest thing on the radio first and hope that works? Mine can work perfectly for months and then act out for weeks and shutting the car off and turning it back on does nothing. I have not added XM pat the 3-month trial...HELP!!

It does not sound like you have the problem this thread is about at all. It sounds like you have a failing entertainment/nav system, which is not unheard of for the 2015 year model. I wonder if the whole thing needs to be replaced, or if you could get by with just replacing the hard drive?

This problem lasted a few months and many owners from all over the country were having the same issue. All was fine until 3 days ago and now I am experiencing similar issues but much worse - frozen XM channels and unresponsive buttons, frozen navigation, etc. Anyone else having radio issues???? I plan to call the dealer tomorrow, but last time they were clueless until a bunch of owners reported this issue on this forum. One more thing, when I turn off the car, the XM radio will work for a bit and then it will freeze up again (along with the other functions such as navigation, etc). If this continues, I will consider getting rid of it...

I have a 2018 with the 9.2 screen.. Had the problem before, but don’t have it now. Not yet anyway.

Did you try this (quoting from conanbarb reply earlier in this thread). This worked for me. I ended up trading the car in for a 2021 G80 due to high used car resale value.

Happened to me last night too. Just like last year. I forgot about the travel link disable
