  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I've had my new 2012 R spec a couple of weeks and I've noticed the Homelink buttons on the rear view mirror don't light up at night with the normal blue glow. Is this normal, a fault, or mode that I can change? Really enjoying the new car.

My Homelink buttons don't light up either. I've learned I have to use the Braille method. It's a quirky design omission, I think, considering all the features and nice touches they've given us at this price point.

Braille method works after some practice. Wish the green light would go away. I don't leave the compass light on either.

I am with PMCErnie though, fewer unnecessary lights in the Driver's field of view the better.

Although I understand that some folks just can't grasp the idea of pushing a button that they cannot see....My wife has to turn on a light to see the buttons on the TV remote that we've had for 10+ years or she can't adjust the volume...

It's the green light that made me question the other buttons not lighting. If we're going to have the distraction of a green light, then why not have the less distracting dim blue grow on the others ? Overall though, I like the interior lighting.
