If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hello all,

I must say that there are almost no new 2009 or 2010 Genesis sedans at the central PA dealers. LOTS of Sonatas. Also, I see very few on the road. At 22K miles I love my 4.6, but question the future. Are they selling in other parts of the US??

Plenty of them in Florida. Matter of fact, "too many". As for your area, I remember last June when I was in Penfield-Rochester, not only did I see very few, but the Dealers still had not received any 4.6's. When I was up there in October, I again saw very few Genesis'.

I will be going up there in May/June and will make note of how many I see while there.
It seems like I see one or two every day here in the Mount Dora area. (No Roswell until Autumn this year, but last year, even into December, I did not see any in Roswell, even though there is a Hyundai Dealer there - not so great a dealer as far as I can see - Did not want to take my car for service in Roswell because service is done at the Toyota dealer and I only want a Genesis trained technician working on my car, even if it is just for an oil change).

I was looking at the 3.8 and the dealer only had two on the lot, I drove off with one of only four 4.8 Genesis on the lot. They seem to have no trouble moving them.

Have only seen a vew Genisis's locally, S. Calif. At the dealerships, though most of the dealerships had one or several 4.6's - though some had none, color selection/interior was scant and had to be searched out.

The dealerships said they are selling them very quickly. Also that the 4.6's, by percentage number were about 20% imported compared to the 3.6's, which account for 80 percent of the Genesis imports. I have no idea if those numbers given to me were accurate.

I'm in Nebraska. The dealership I bought my 3.8 at is up to stock # 14 (my car was stock # 7 when I when it in Dec. of 2008). So in the span of 16 months they sold 6 more cars off the lot... which seems crazy low! Unless when you order a car they don't assign it a stock #?

Driving around town I've only seen one other Genesis... I like being unique... unlike my wife's Pilot where you see one every time you hit the road. It's nice being special!

80/20 is the percentage of V6 to V8 that HMA CEO John Krafcik stated in an interview about a year and half ago. Don't know if those percentages have remained the same as the price of oil has abated somewhat (but seems to be going back up recently).

My dealer here in St. Joe has been and still is selling Sonatas like crazy but my Genesis is only one of a handful in town. He says they sell much better in Kansas City.

I believe that Genesis numbers include Sedan and Coupe. According to Wikipedia, The Genesis Coupe arrived in United States dealerships on February 26, 2009.

Over Easter I drove from Milwaukee WI. to Memphis TN. put on 1,450 miles (no problems)
I saw a total of 4 Genensis Sedans..........This was a trip of 5 days on the road and driving around Memphis. I did see 8 Nissian Maximias (the other car I was looking at before I bought mine. Only have seen 2/3 other sedans around Milwaukee since I bought mine in Sept. Don't know if this is a good sign or bad?

I bought my car in Kansas back in November 2009. Drove it all the way back to Massachusetts and didn't see one Genesis. Up here in New England they arn't that popular I guess because I've only seen a handful of them.... if that.

I think you're right. Dealers in my area (Ct) stock only a handful of sedans while those in Florida show twenty to thirty. Part of the scarcity in the Northeast is probably the lack of AWD, as well as lower acceptance of Hyundai as a luxury brand. Personally, I like it this way as I enjoy the exclusivity.

As I wrote in another thread, I haven't seen that many(maybe 2) till March this year.
Ever since the weather started to warm up, I've seen a dozen of them around where I live.

Don't see but one a month here in Southern Ontario ! ( If that ) Amazing

Not seen one since we bought our car in December....but there are other posters here, that live in my area...Detroit.

I am seeing more of them on the road. I actually passed my first one in my own last weekend!

I do see an interesting thing though - two Hyundai dealers in my town, one with inflated prices and one without, and the dealership with lower prices typically has zero to two cars on the lot, while the more expensive dealership has closer to a half dozen all the time.

I know the more expensive dealership is bigger volume, but the cars don't seem to move as much, probably because everyone is buying them from the less expensive dealership.

In light of these responses, I wonder what it will be like to try to trade, or sell it????

Living in South Florida I have seen a number on the road (mostly Black color) and many with the "Genesis Logo". Still no where near as popular as other cars in it's class but you have to remember that it's still a new car to many people. Also we're not talking a $25,000-30,000 car either that would be the sweet spot for higher volume sales. I went from Honda Accord V6 to the Genesis Tech which for me was a about an $8,000 jump.

I have absolutely no regrets since I love the way the car drives and looks. I was ready for a change after owning Accords for over 20 years. So for me this was a reasonable jump to have a more luxurious car. Name cache makes nor difference to me. Bottom line is the sales seem to be steady month to month and that's a good sign. I don't think you will see huge sales of the genesis sedan since it's in that $35+ range but that's fine. It's certainly competing at that price point and I don't see any problem with that.
