  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am looking online for a 5.0 with the Ultimate package, and I have contacted several dealers in my area.
Two of them told me that there are only 2 in the entire state that are either Silver w/black interior or empire grey with black interior with ultimate package. That doesn't seem right to me.

Was the Ultimate package on the v8 really that rare?

I have found several v8s that are priced like they are ultimate (approx $56k msrp), but don't specifically say.

Is the presence of a DIS knob the giveaway?
Is there a number to check in the VIN?

In my contacts with the dealers, it seems product knowledge is not at the top of their priorities.

Thanks everyone

The knob is the giveaway. Also the size of the navigation screen. I believe it's 9 inches on the ultimate package. I think most of 2015 leftover unsold cars lack the ultimate package.

I usually looked to see if the driver seat had the seat extender button on the side (this comes in the Tech package) and then look for the knob to determine if it is the Tech or Ultimate. The HTRAC emblem on the back of the car would indicate whether its AWD or RWD. This applies to the V6 in the US. I'm not real sure what the true differences are on the V8 ultimate vs base, other than the knob which has been noted in in the previous post.

the center control knob is the dead giveaway

cool, this is good info.
There is a car that shows the knob in the pics, but there is no mention of it in the description.
It happens to be at the dealer closest to my house.
Maybe it will be mine?

Do it!

looks like the 2750 lease cash for 2015 v8 models disappeared after the 5th. There are new financing deals coming on 1/13. If they bring it back, and can meet my numbers, the 2013 R-spec will be getting a new home.

Be careful, as some dealers use stock photos so they don't have to take pics of every single car. Obviously, you will find out when you get there.

I thought I was going to end up with a V6 AWD Tech but ended up getting the Ultimate. While $3500 seems a bit steep for what you get compared to the other packages, the HUD, real wood trim and dial knob really sets it apart in my mind. You certainly won't be disappointed. Good luck getting your keys soon.

There are currently no V8s in central Texas according the Hyundai's inventory application.

Any V8's available now are the 2015 model year, as far as I know no 2016 V8's have been released. Based on searching I did a while back I think that most of the V8 leftovers are cars without the ultimate package.

5.0 Ultimate package: control knob by the shifter, larger 9.1" screen, heads up display, power closing trunk.

I

There is usually a VIN listed in the ads. Use the link posted here (or just Google) and pull up the window stocker to confirm car.

I didn't think I'd like the knob at all from my experiences with Mercedes but when combined with the touch screen the knob is awesome.

Look for any V8's with an MSRP of $55,700 (or higher) and that should be the Ultimate unless the dealer is a stealer.

this is how i built my list of all the dealers in the southeast that have Ultimates in stock. I have gone to each individual dealer in FL, GA, and starting on AL, NC and SC now.

The hyundaiusa site sucks
