  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How does this compare to Audi A5 sportsback?

ah... and do you have the mileage problem people mentioned here?

Not really a problem - it's what you'd expect given the engines and power. Drive the 3.3T like you stole it and you'll burn though lots of fuel. Drive it 'normally' and it's pretty comparable with anything in the class.

Cool. Cant wait to drive and compare to a5. Sucks nearby dealer says g70 won't be around till a month or two

Couldn't wait any longer on the g70. Pulled the trigger on the s5 sportback prestige. Cpo put it in better warranty territory for me (I commute 100+ miles) and audi is unlimited for 4+, not to mention I was about 14k under original sticker with 4000 miles on the car. Probably a little higher than a 3.3 g70 but not by much

Yeah I am about to do the same with and A5 new prestige with driver assist and cold weather and audi care for 52k otd. Trying to shop for better deal though if I can. Also trying to see a stinger gt2 deal if there's one..

S5 is interesting... not sure I need all that horsepower for the additional cost though.

Well, I guess that's what happens when you put together a sucky launch. End up losing customers to other brands.

Same^, I completely lost interest in the vehicle since there is no info, I am now waiting on the 2019 S60 to arrive next month or two. P.S. A LOT nicer for the money.

So how much did you pay for it? what you said also piqued my interest in looking for deals on s5 used... I saw some that are high 50s that are loaded and under 10k miles or so. You think its possible to get down to low 50s OTD or thats too much to ask for?

Yeah, they are SCREWED if they dont release it by end of november when people are buying xmas presents. Heck some argue even labor day is a huge missed opportunity.

2019 S60 is a beautiful car but, at least in Canada, Volvos are massively expensive.

The base 295hp engine, optioned to be comparable to the G70 (excluding its upgraded sound system, massage seats, etc.) comes to $72K, compared to $65K for the G70 3.3T Sport, all including taxes.

Volvo styling might be worth it for you, but in Canada they have very poor lease / financing rates and questionable long-term reliability, I could never stomach the proposition.

I do hope Genesis speeds things up for U.S. customers. I am simply loving my G70.

The lowest cpo s5 sportback ive seen in the last 3 months was around 56k. That's as low as I've been able to talk any dealer down. There's no way you're getting one out the door for low 50s. Tax alone on a 56000 dollar car is over 4 grand.

If the g70 loaded was around 52 Plus tax I was ok paying a 4-5 grand more for the s5. Especially since someone else ate 14k in depreciation for 6 months of use

One word for you folks: RELAX
Honestly Its frustrating to watch a company botch a brand and product release this bad. Coming from a Hyundai I was hyped about the g70 because the value is undeniable, but....

They refuse to provide any sort of details on actual cost and release date of the g70 a car which at this point is close to a year old in other markets.

They don’t have a cpo program outlined so dealers are sitting on demo/used g80 sports with worse warranties than Hyundai’s/kias. I’ve also called and emailed them with no response

The fuel economy on both the 2.0 and 3.3 is inexcusably bad

I saw a 5s cpo with 13k miles asking 55k...not sure how much I can get it down... there's another one that is asking 59k but only 200 miles. They are both 67k msrp.

A relative bought the Volvo S60 (2018, not the upcoming model) and I was a bit underwhelmed driving it. Plus, the infotainment was nowhere near the logic and ease of my Audi MMI.

I really like the new S5s, but it is a new motor that needs a little proving time. I would probably be happy with the A5 Sportback. I don't know how Audi can hit those high 2.0 gas mileage numbers when Hyundai can't. 24/34 mpg Premium is really good.

I'm in Cali and I played around at a dealer with the S90, which is just the over sized version of the S60, and man is it nice. Seems so much better than almost everything else I was looking at. The US pricing starts at 35k for the base momentum (I'm only looking at the base T5) and the way I have it configured online as a R Design with everything that I want on it and all options, it's sitting at 43k. Since it's too early for any deals, I was comparing deals on the S90, many dealers have lease specials for cars around 52-55k MSRP range, that are 3-4k down, 350-450/mo. This is a much more expensive car, and including a 3,500 rebate. If the S60 has anything similar with less down, I'm sold.
P.S. I've noticed with all dealers here, they are advertising 6-10k off the cars on their websites, sure seems like they are heavily discounting, in some cases, thats 20% off.

How does it compare to a5? Its gonna be more if new if you load it up. Also s60 is going redesign too while s90 is in its 2nd year.

Watch out... . just a fyi... those are all made in China. Some might not care.. but some might. S60 will be USA manufacture. FIrst letter on VIN will be "L" I could be open to one as long as the dealer took a big chunk off their asking price due to the big chunk saved on labor costs. Maybe that is why some of them are discounting heavier ?

The S90 is really nice, but I'm disappointed only the long wheelbase model is available in the US. It makes maneuvering the car in tight spaces harder, and I would have to risk punching the wall in my garage every time I parked to make it fit it's so long.

The big problem with the S90, and I speak from personal experience, is living with and trying to deal with some of the worst software implementation I've ever seen.
