  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How many 2012 owners have complained about the transmission to Hyundai?

There's a guy on another thread who has had 3 trannys. He's got a 5.0 too. I'm curious...if this proves to be a trend with 5.0 owners....could it be the greater hp and torque is the cause? I'll keep an eye on my 4.6 but I only have 4300 miles and have been riding my bike more than driving the car.
I’m new on here but I have the 12 4.6 Genny and I’ve had the trans replaced 3 times in 5 months with the 2nd one immediately being faulty on install

I agree the transmission is not the best, but the thing that kills me on this car ,is the nano traction control cost me a race against a stinger gt) . smh

the transmissions 12 + up common issues with equus and genesis.

Ok I get it... Ill play nice with this post.

On 2nd tranny. First one blew out about 160-170k km. Same issues. 2nd tranny (brand new Hyundai) starting to act up about 40k km.

I think it has to do with the ebrake/auto hold feature. Every time after engaging those features I've noticed the tranny slipping, missing, and banging into gears. It goes back to being smooth the first few times after using those features then turning off. But sure enough the problems persist and grow until the only solution is to replace the tranny.

What else can we do to get Hyundai to listen that this a very serious issue? It has gone on far too long and far too many people that an escalation is required for them to take action on handling this.

Suggestions?

what we can all do is contact the headquarters and keep filing complaints and demand they should extend warranty on the transmission.

the six speed on my 2010 does the same thing.

thats a rare case, the 6spd are near bullet proof.
After reviewing some of the comments, my trans has not been replaced after 130k. fluid changed at 95k. performs the same. scary when turning into traffic and needing to quickly accelerate. Hesitates then downshifts one to many gears, engine revs, tires smoke, car takes off, fast.
