  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The dealership I got the car from in Maryland actually rebadges all their Sedans, and even have a couple that they've done all the E&G upgrades (grill, license frame, spoiler, tinted windows). It would've been great if they had all these done on the color combo I was looking for.

They have a Coupe that looks that came out of DUB....they put in about $5K worth of body upgrades and it looks incredible.

I think the dealers have recognized that the Hyundai logo carries a stigma, and that it's not the consumer's role to try to change that---I'm just a customer, let the car serve me, and please me---let the Company figure out how they remove that stigma to allow their products to be more marketable.

This is now the second Hyundai I've owned, in addition to Mitsubishi, Chrysler, Volkswagon, Nissan, Mercedes, GM, Ford---you name it---and the Genesis is by far the single most complete car, and best bang for the buck I've ever come across.

Trunk and wheels only. I have ordered lighted door sills for front doors.

Would never badge that design period, it's ugly as it gets. Throws the entire front grille illusion off.

Everyone and their mother knows it looks better stock without a badge, hell it's what won N.A. Car of the year in 09, because of the fact that the front end looks anonymous, a head turner like, "what kind of car is that ?", instead of .... "oh, hyundai is trying to get good".

I'm tired of seeing and hearing about this badging, it's stupid and ugly and I can prove it.

Pick a genesis without the badge, and put it next to the equus 2012, see who draws a crowd biggest. It will be the Genesis ....

I re-badged the trunk but didn't do the hood. I have the hood badge (since they came as a set) but didn't install it since the dealer said that some folks have complained that the hood badge causes wind noise.

Is that true?

I have not experienced any wind noise or abnormal issues/noises since I installed the hood emblem.

I really wondered if the dealer made this up because they didn't want to bother with the install (which they were doing it gratis as part of the deal).

Everyone is entitled to their opinion I guess????

That sounds like a bunch of hooey to me...I have the front and rear badges and if there is any wind noise you better have super sensitive hearing even to notice.

I don't think so but.........The front badge can be a little tricky since both protruding posts have to be removed in some fashion prior to installation whereas the rear badge posts can remain as they fit nicely into the predrilled holes from the removed Hyundia badge.

I decided to install the front badge last night...

No discernible extra wind noise as far as I can tell, so I think that since the dealership sold me the badges as a set, they just didn't want to be bothered measuring to get the hood badge on correctly. I ended up mounting it about 1 inch above the chrome strip, but it takes some careful measuring to get it on just perfectly. Looks great to me, but I could see why some people may not like it.

My front badge didn't have the posts on the back. Since I got the set from the dealer, they must have already taken those off. They removed the "H" and affixed the rear badge for me before I picked it up...
