This is where Hyundai has made a error in judgment and building the brand. I have no big problem with not getting Carplay because a) I didn't expect and wasn't promised it (though it was mentioned by the salesman that Hyundai was working on this upgrade and b) it seems to be a hardware problem with the Ultimate 9.2" screen system. Perhaps naively, I'm assuming that Hyundai would have loved to provide Carplay to all, but they designed the hardware without realizing that its design would preclude a Carplay upgrade. How about the fact that, along with the Carplay/AA upgrade, the non Ultimate owners got a map upgrade to 3D maps and better voice recognition? We Ultimate owners can get those 2 upgrades too - IF we spend $219 to get the V10 maps at Mapnsoft! How is that for treating the buyers of your most expensive trim level? And they'll buid a loyal following for their new brand this way? I think NOT!
However they made a big mistake with including the map upgrade with the AA/Carplay upgrade. I think someone else here suggested that, in fairness to their premium buyers (and simply good sense) Hyundai should offer a free upgrade to the V10 maps to all Ultimate owners. In fact, it makes so much sense, for relatively small expense, that I'm sure they won't do it!
