Regardless of what? Is it a genesis process or Sirius? I know Sirius offers HD content, traffic info, etc. But the icons in the infotainment are Genesis product.
So I’m guessing Genesis is suppose to be processing HD signal broadcast content to those icons applications, yes?
Yes. I have no clue - I only listen to one or 2 stations that provide HD , so I’ve looked for more or know how many broadcast in my area. None available - car still in shop. But while we were there yesterday before picking up the GV90 trail, I sat in the car with the salesman, after being told by service manager that it’s a paid feature, and listened to the HD radio broadcast with him, then went to the fuel prices , radar and traffic options and got no info available message. So can you receive HD radio stations? How many? Picture please.
YesAre you getting sound?
Yes, we have been when previously tried. Yesterday no. But, also, on a 10 hour trip, through major metropolitan area and in the same area, I would expect to see the data. And if the service people say that they’ve seen it in other cars at the facility, but not ours, seems odd to me if we’re suppose to have it.Are you in the exact same location where you were able to receive data previously?
So it looks like #2. You have no HD stations broadcasting data in your area!So here are some pics from the g90 loaner im buying. I know different car & I think not latest update, but same example. I get HD ready, but no the other 3 screens.....

The HD2 only means there is another source on that frequency. It does not mean that any of the HD sources are transmitting the data you need.No. If you see-2 after frequency , stands for HD 2. I’ve been saying that the HD radio had started back and still getting that
Right, so the question is the same, who is responsible for transmitting the info for the 3 icons , free or paid service and how to get it to work - toggle a button or should it just show when info is being transmitted? Are they even still suppose to work ? As mentioned on the g90 I just bought I didn’t see any info there either. The HD2 only means there is another source on that frequency. Well here is my opinionRight, so the question is the same, who is responsible for transmitting the info for the 3 icons , free or paid service and how to get it to work - toggle a button or should it just show when info is being transmitted? New Orleans , la. covington, la. Jacksonville , fl. car has been in all those areas and it's not worked. Tks!Well here is my opinion
Who is responsible for transmitting the information
The HD radio station. They can do it but they don’t have to do it. That is they are not required to do anything
Free or paid
It is free
How to get it to work
nothing to do. It just works. Nothing to toggle, no button to push
Is it even supposed to work
Mine works fine. Maybe someone with a G90 can comment
Once again I’m asking, What is your location? What city are you in where it doesn’t work. If you can’t answer that, I can’t hep you
So is there anyone on the forum that is in any of these cities, and does your HD data (weather, traffic, fuel prices) work?New Orleans , la. covington, la. Jacksonville , fl. car has been in all those areas and it's not worked. Tks!
It certainly works for me. Do you have another dealer you can go to and see if their service dept can help. Makes no difference where you bought the car.So unless someone else chimes in and says they use the feature AND it works , we may pursue a fix. But, honestly , looks like its not a feature that works and we'd most likely not use it at his rate.
Yeah. It's in Covington in the shop now for the door handle recall - there since last Monday. There suppose to check the HD signal too. Will report back when we pick it up. BUT, we waited for the appointment for about 6 weeks and they had never ordered the door handle kits for some reason so were waiting for them to come in!It certainly works for me. There is no "separate" HD tuner. The car's tuner has the capability to receive and decode the digital data from a station that is transmitting, along with its "base" analog audio channel (which is present to remain compatible with non HD tuners), multiple data streams that are transmitted. "HD Radio transmits the digital signals in unused portions of the same band as the analog AM and FM signals. As a result, radios are more easily designed to pick up both signals, which is why the HD in HD Radio is shorthand for "hybrid digital," not "high definition."HD Radio technology allows broadcasters to transmit a high-quality digital signal that piggybacks traditional AM and FM frequencies. There is a separate HD tuner.

Actually that isn’t quite yet the bottom line. Do you need to have the radio on and turned to or set as a preset to an HD2 station in order to get traffic and gas prices?Bottom line, if your car receiver's tuner is detecting a HD station and you are not getting any data you think is supposed to be there, it is most likely that the data is just not being transmitted by the radio station.
