  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

How to remove the Genesis sedan steering emblem

Not at all - want the lines on the car to do the talking.
I’m afraid the car is rather mute. Someone admires the lines of a car, then wants to know the make or model they’re gazing at, I suppose they’re out of luck - cuz she ain’t talkin!

See no sense whatsoever in removing the Genesis lettering, personally I want people to know what I’m driving...what are you guys that remove the name ashamed of your ride?

Times have changed. As a teenager in the 60s, one of the first things we did after getting a car was to remove badges and hood ornaments. More skilled guys took out the trunk lock and put in an electric lock, filled the key hole in the trunk. Hardly ever see custom crs any more except on cruise nights with the old farts

I know there are different reasons for doing it. I personally removed all rear badges and used the wing emblem in place of the flying H for two reasons. I like the sleek look and without the 5.0 r spec badge nobody knows what I have under the hood.

I bet you've surprised a few people. IMO, it would look good too.

Have to say it's fun when I show off a bit and I can tell someone is behind me trying to figure out what type of car it is lol. There are always faster cars, but the genesis is definitely no slouch.

I like it that way. No need for all the distractions.

If you change the make badge from Hyundai to Genesis, now your make and model badging is redundant. A Genesis Genesis?

With hyundai nowhere else it's just a Genesis. I like to think of it as keeping with the times since it became it's own brand a short time later lol

I just recently purchased my 2011 4.6 and have the trunk badge which I'm going to swap soon. I think I'm going to remove the Genesis lettering as well, mainly because it seems redundant to keep that with the new wings which say Genesis. Also, the previous owner must not have used soft water to rinse after washing or left the water on the lettering because it's very white between letters. I've been able to remove a good bit of it, but not all. The Hyundai dealer I bought the car from gave me a set of stickers for the airbag and wheel caps which I'm going to try out but I may end up getting replacements for them if they really look tacky.

At least I have something to laugh at.
