Just bought a 2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Right out of the box, I found a NY Hyundai dealer ( I can track contact info. later) that was selling a Hyundai to Genesis conversion kit for $122. Consisted of Genesis emblems to be attached over normal Hyudai emblembs at front, rear, wheel covers, steering wheel and associated license plates. Bought package. The emblems come with 3M sticky tape adhesive. DO NOT RELY ON THIS!!! Buy a tube of 3M emblem adhesive glue from your local body shop parts store and use it when the temp is above 50 degrees. My first experience without the adhesive was a problem. Emblems would bend with pressure and would not stay on. The glue has worked well.
But, the emblem issue points out a more basic issue. Do I own a Hyundai or a Genesis? The Hyundai dealer that sold me the car is building a new dealership next door and their existing building complex will become one of two Genesis dealers in the Denver area. With the emblem changes, my Coupe now looks like a Genesis product, but I know it really isn't. In the meantime, when I start the car, I get a Hyundai welcome logo. Would like to change that. What's going to happen in the future?
