  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Just bought a 2016 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. Right out of the box, I found a NY Hyundai dealer ( I can track contact info. later) that was selling a Hyundai to Genesis conversion kit for $122. Consisted of Genesis emblems to be attached over normal Hyudai emblembs at front, rear, wheel covers, steering wheel and associated license plates. Bought package. The emblems come with 3M sticky tape adhesive. DO NOT RELY ON THIS!!! Buy a tube of 3M emblem adhesive glue from your local body shop parts store and use it when the temp is above 50 degrees. My first experience without the adhesive was a problem. Emblems would bend with pressure and would not stay on. The glue has worked well.

But, the emblem issue points out a more basic issue. Do I own a Hyundai or a Genesis? The Hyundai dealer that sold me the car is building a new dealership next door and their existing building complex will become one of two Genesis dealers in the Denver area. With the emblem changes, my Coupe now looks like a Genesis product, but I know it really isn't. In the meantime, when I start the car, I get a Hyundai welcome logo. Would like to change that. What's going to happen in the future?

You are just another Hyundai owner, a poor slob like most of us here. Your coupe will not be in the '17 Genesis lineup. You'll continue to get your car serviced for warranty work at your Hyundai dealer.

Hi there. Welcome aboard! And thank you for signing up. Oh, and congratulations on your Genesis Coupe! Yes, the dealer's conversion kit is only "exterior" - nothing more - which is fine. Most people who buy emblems do exactly that. Though all the OEM emblems have no issues with either bending or failing to stick securely with the 3M tape that comes preinstalled...

I'm not sure if there's a way to change that Hyundai logo for the Welcome screen... I'm going to move this over to the Coupe area and maybe somebody can mention that. But, yeah - PMCErnie is right - there's currently no coupe in the "Genesis Motors" brand lineup - and there won't be for awhile...

Unlike the Hyundai Genesis Sedan and the Hyundai Equus, the Hyundai Genesis Coupe will not be moving to Genesis Motors starting with 2017 models. If they still continue to make the Coupe and sell it in the USA, it will be a Hyundai "something" (with a new name).

As noted by others, Genesis may decide at some later date to offer a coupe, but it will be totally different the Hyundai Genesis Coupe.

It would be a shame to lose the coupe altogether. No Hyundai or Genesis - even for a short time. I thought it was a pretty nice car...
