  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hyundai Genesis Facelift spied with new headlights

Now three years into production of the first-generation model, designers are hard at work developing the facelifted version of the Hyundai Genesis sedan. Several changes can be seen on the car, which was testing in a warm region of the States.

Spotted on the car is a brand new set of headlights, along with what appears to be changes to the grille and bumper. Fog lights also look to be getting a refresher. In back, we can see a new set of taillights, as indicated by a thinner strip of white reflective material with red tint along the top and bottom of the cluster.

The car also looks to get a more square bumper, with two rectangluar exhaust tailpipes set in at the bottom. Inside, the spy caught a pic of the gear shifter covered up with a cloth. The spy believes this is meant to disguise the car's new eight-speed automatic transmission.

We are not 100 percent certain of the car's engine choices, as a new 400-horsepower (298-kW) 5.0-liter V8 may be on the way to replace the 368-hp (274-kW) 4.6-liter V8. The facelifted Genesis will likely still utilize the current 3.8-liter V6 that kicks out 290 hp (216 kW).

New front blinker location?

Maybe its the angle or my eyes but do the door handles look to go more with the body lines then they do on the 09 and 10 versions?

Doubt anything would change on the main body of the car - probably just revised front and rear bumpers - stamping molds for sheetmetal are very expensive to produce and are generally used for the vehicle's entire style run.

Door handles look the same to me anyway.

I agree with Mark 888. Must be relatively easy for an auto manufaturer to "refresh" a car with new head/tail lights. Just those two changes alone can give the vehicle a totally different look.

If you look closely at the 3rd and 5th pics on that website, the tail lights do not appear to be the same.
Very interesting.. They're certainly different...

not feeling the ls460ish/mazda6ish tailpipes. maybe could retrofit it to the current rear bumper. front changes have some potential...
Ditto. I like the current look. I really hope they put that 5.0 DI V8, engine in the coupe. The lady wont let me buy a M3 or a Porsche, but I might be able to finagle a <50k Hyundai.

Part of the "Trucker Package". Also has the chrome girl on the mud flaps and 10-speed manual tranny...

Still no love for the co-pilot. Heated seat only? not cool! (pun intended)

I am afraid that the front with the grille bars being more straight (no klingon) and the headlights new design it is starting to look more like the VW CC, it would be a bad move since the Sonata suppose to be on that category and not the Genny, but maybe it is just me...

I guess I'm the odd ball here as I like the new integrated tail pipes.. Then again, I like the Lexus LS460...

I agree. Don't like the square pipes, rather the 2010 ovals or doubles.

A 5.0 Tau in the Genesis Coupe would really be great! Now why won't your wife let you buy an M3 or Porsche? That's not very nice. Don't you work hard for your money? I find it odd when people disallow certain freedoms to others...
