  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello everyone,

Thought you guys might like this. I like the wheels a lot. Very clean and it compliments the overall look very well.

There's a lot of magic under the sleeves of Hyundai that we don't know about just yet. Hyundai has a very bright future.

Cheers!

That version of the Sedan was just for smiles. They may in the future produce an R-Spec'ed version of the Genesis, which should push out 500 PS at a modest estimate with some Tau tweaks - if even a 10k premium, it would make a hell of a contender in the luxury saloon market.

Yea I know, I just love the cosmetics of it. I knew there wasn't anything else done, but the wheels sure do make a big difference. Very Sleek.

My Hyundai Genesis R-Spec ideas: (Hope you're listening Hyundai!)

Engine: This is obviously the most important component of making a R-Spec line up. The V8 4.6 Tau is an excellent platform to tweak. Whether NA or forced induction, with a super charger, just make sure the power is 400+hp. Look at the BMW M3 4.0 liter V-8 engine that's pushing 414-hp @ 8400 rpm and 295 ft-lb of torque @ 3900 rpm. I know you can get more juice out of the current Tau 4.6L......

....... As for fuel economy?

LISTEN and LISTEN CAREFULLY! -- WHO CARES ABOUT FUEL ECONOMY ON A SPORTS CAR! PEOPLE DON'T BUY SPORTS CARS TO SAVE ON GAS!

IF GAS PRICE IS A CONCERN OR IN A PERSONS VOCABULARY WHEN LOOKING FOR A SPORTS CAR, THEN THEY SHOULDN'T BUY ONE!

The BMW M3 gets 14/20 and the Genesis V8 is 17/25 is it? There's room to play.

Exterior: MUST HAVE NEW WHEELS THAT REALLY COMPLIMENT THE LOOK OF THE CAR! I don't understand how most car makers still don't understand how much the wheels really matter. It'll make or break a cars appearance. The Genesis 19's look awesome on the Sedan. Play around with those wheels. Change the tail light design a little. Not too much but just enough to give a R-Spec some character. A lip kit would do a lot of justice. Lip kits really make a car stand out.

Interior: Offer different color options for the interior. Add some badges to the seats, change the color of the light...just do something to make it stand out.

Suspension: This is a no brainer. Add some real credible aftermarket brakes and suspension system that's really worth while. When most people pay for a luxury/sports-sedan, they're not always crazy about changing things out. That's what the Genesis Coupe is for and the Sedan is no Genesis Coupe. Equip it right and nice the first time so there is no need to upgrade anything.

Exhaust: Just make sure this damn thing functions and not just look nice. I hate when car makers add a stupid chrome tip to make it look like it's the real exhaust when actuality it is not. FUNCTIONALITY! Make it sound nice too.

Engine Bay: Redesign the plastic cover. Make it more appealing. Hyundai does do a good job of keeping things neat and clean, which I've always admired about Hyundai.

To be continued....

I couldn't benchmark the engine to BMW's high revving S65 - I would take a look at the IS-F.

It's current specifications of 416/371 is what I would see the Tau when it gets the DI lift. And for 4.6, that's quite nice. Now if they bored it to 5.0, and added a supercharger (or a nice smooth TT) that would be one hell of a contender...

It's quite the step though - I don't see Korea budgeting or approving any North American "R-Spec" variants of the Tau until the Equus and Genesis have some solid, consistent sales numbers in the following years.

Hmmm...that looks just like a plain ole genny 4.6 with the coupe's 19" wheels and a fancy decal off of ebay...

I have to admit, the coupe wheels look good!

They will produce the Spec R version of the Genesis Sedan. It will have the 5.0L. 429 hp 8 speed in house designed trans. Expect to see this vehicle hit Dealers lots in late April. Will also have 19inch wheels some different body cladding and rumor has some carbon fiber accents.

I'm not impressed with the wheels. They look like the wheels off of a G35/37 Infinity. It doesn't squat down or look mean (in a good way) at all.

Plus, get rid of the nanny ESC if you want to really allow the R-Spec buyers to have some fun.
