  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I want to replace the OEM shifter knob of the 2012 Genesis 3.8 auto stick. It feels plasticky and cheap. any recommendations?

Just let the wifey drive and when you want to shift slap her upside the head. Note: Repeated use of this method may lead to mechanical and legal issues and is not recommended if wifey is larger than you or if she is proficient with a firearm.

I can't tell if you're serious.

Do you really think those are "classier" than the stock shifter?

A guy on here put the equus shifter on but other than that haven't seen or looked for another option. Side note, about knocked myself out removing the shifter knob when installing my air ride. Almost like they really don't want you taking it off.

I replaced mine with a carbon fiber Momo knob.

I would love to see pics of it.

I know some of you are saying the OEM knob is classier, but I like the round Blox 490 knob. It's not classier, it's different - makes the car more sporty I feel.

I just didn't like how my OEM shifter knob rotates around the stick a little, doesn't feel rock-solid.

That's sketchy. I don't think I've ever owned a car that was set up that way, and I've had a bunch. Hell, the Coupe was traditional screw on, FFS.

LOL. You have to pull REALLY hard through. You'll end up punching the head liner...its a knuckle buster I tell ya

Yes, I completely agree. Sometimes I get the feeling that people don't read all replies on a thread before posting. Not talking about you OFG.
