  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hyundai Genesis sedan auto shifter knob

That's sketchy. I don't think I've ever owned a car that was set up that way, and I've had a bunch. Hell, the Coupe was traditional screw on, FFS.

My E90 was this way, straddle the center console and deadlift the shift knob straight up. Installing the aftermarket one, push down and give it a few good whacks and your done:

I may need to check and see if the shaft is the same size/attachment method is the same, because I really liked the alcantara shift knob..

LOL. You have to pull REALLY hard through. You'll end up punching the head liner...its a knuckle buster I tell ya

It really does just stick on? That's kind of ridiculous. I was actually thinking about replacing mine too for the reason the other poster noted. It has a tiny bit of play in it where I can slightly rotate it left to right. Now I'm concerned it's going to come off now that I know it simply presses straight on.

Lol, like 80% of new auto cars are pressed on. Don't worry about it unless your jerkin up on the gear selector a lot and are Mike Katz (google him)

These is no way this will come off on its own.

What do you guys think?

Is that a Schlitz logo on top?

Alright, I give up. I'm a huge beer aficionado so I know Schlitz is a malt beverage, but I can't find a logo that looks anything like the top of the shifter.

There is a stripe in the chrome top piece that's a reflection of the ancient artifact called a "Compact Disc Player".

I dont mind that at all. Its not something I would personally do but I do not think it looks bad!

I was going for a more sporty look compared to the wood/leather stock knob. Saving up for a set of coils next. My mod bug is acting up again.:D
