I was returning from a 6 hour trip driving on I-40E in the North Western part of NC, I've always hated that route, the lanes are so tight and there are so many curves.
I am not sure what happened, I was not tired or anything, but I was a fraction of a second late turning on the curve and as soon as I tried to over correct it was already too late and I hit the rail on the left side, it didn't help that there was no space at all and if you go over the lane you just end up hitting it.
Now the whole left side of the car is scratched
I have no idea how much it will cost to fix and if they need to actually change the doors/bumbers or if it can be just fixed.
I've always driven old cars and beaters so I never really bothered to fix cosmetic damage unless it was really bad. So not sure what to expect here, what do you guys suggest? Is it better to take it to the dealership or just try to find me own body shop? Any advice would be appreciated.
