  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

so are those options only available on non-us models?

if so, confused why hyundai would not offer the whole options list to their biggest buyers... USA

Yes, only for non-US models

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
It's probably to keep the US price from topping $50k. They'll probably offer these & the other "missing" options in a mid-model refresh to keep demand up.

Still, my usual thought in situations like this is "I wonder which options can be retro-fitted?"

The front camera can be very useful. If your coming out of a small alley way onto the road, the two sideway looking cameras will display a split screen image on the 8 inch display; one left, the other right. This feature is especially useful to countries with more crowded streets like Seoul, Korea.

I am a big genesis fan and I am suppose to be going to korea with my job and I was wondering if it was possible if I could buy a Hyundai Genesis V-8 Korean market version and How much would it cost. If anyone can help me out here i'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I thought the american versions were 6 speed transmissions...?

And shawshank: it's extremely difficult to import a foreign made car into the US. It's possible, but difficult.

I hear the price in Korea is twice as much. v6 going for 60K.

Last I checked, you have to have the safety administration parts of the government, and the insurance companies, etc... test the foreign version of the car, in order to have a VIN assigned to it legally. keyword : legally.

I could be wrong, and there are always loopholes in things, but it's expensive, non the less.

The transmissions are the same in the U.S., not sure why that's pictured above.

That 6 Speed picture has a button called "Sport" or atleast that is what I think it looks like, that is what I was referring too.

That Sport button actually refers to the adjustable air suspension. :) If you look closely you can see a picture of a shock/strut on the button.

The button on the other side of the shifter (that isn't visible), below the driver's side heated/cooled seat button is for the built-in Ionizer, which is another feature the U.S. doesn't get.

Well then I want that option as well :D

With a little good fortune our air quality will not degrade to the point that we ever need it! But I guess it would be good if you or your passengers are smokers....

These options would certainly be nice - but I'm sure they were omitted from the U.S. version to keep the price down. To add to that list, cooled seats for both front seat passengers would be nice.. Still, the Korean version is a LOT more expensive and does include these things..

I bet we'll see some of this stuff - if not ALL - with the mid-design refresh if the Genesis sells well here.

Hello, I am new to the forum,

I don't think they will offer these in a mid-cycle refresh. My 05' Acura RL has many of the same items offered outside the US. It took a year for Active Cruise and Back Up Camera to make it here. 4 years later and a complete refresh of the exterior of the car and they still don't offer any of the options that Japan enjoys (auto close/open trunk, Night Vision, look around corner cameras, ventilated seats, etc...)

I think car companies do this because of licensing restrictions posed by the equipment manufactures. But I am not sure.

Hyundai should, I know I would pick up the car in a heartbeat gladly paying extra for the options. As it stands I am still undecided.

Previous/current auto's
05' Acura RL
03' Mercedes SL500
02' BMX X5
02' Audi S4
97' Ford Expedition
95' Dodge Stealth RT

Hello considering and welcome to the forums! :welcome:

I hope we do not have to wait that long for all the extra features to come to the US market on the Genesis.

Welcome aboard, Considering! Thank you for signing up! I hope you're wrong!! These options are kind of important to luxury car buyers. Acura's been having problems lately - so maybe that's the reason for the lack of innovation to their American products.. I don't know... I think Hyundai is REALLY on the up and up lately. So it would be in their best interests to get these options to be available in the U.S. Not that it would be a bad idea for Acura - they're just having a very difficult time selling vehicles here - especially the RL. Competition is really stiff...

Jerrad: Thanks for the info. I personally l ike the front double sided camera (already have backup with the Tech), not too crazy with the rear seat radio controls - I am paying for the car not the rear seat passenger - I want to listen to MY music.

DO like the Power open/close trunk. I also would like to see manual rear sunshades (very elegant) and automatic up/down rear windows, I think is totally ridiculus not to have them even with the Tech. Package!

Aside from that LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Genesis.

Oh! And I think that it should have airconditioned front passenger seat, specially here in Miami!

Aside from that LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Genesis.
