  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Has the Genesis taken away would be customers from other luxury brands? Perhaps the Genesis owners can shead some light on this question.

Personally I was in a Azera and would have kept the car for 2-3 years more.

Before our recent purchase of a Genesis, we had bought 5 GM products in a row for our main car since the 1970s. However, I made the decision to abandon GM this time. I just don't trust them to stay in business and I don't want to be stuck with an orphan at trade-in time. I am really sorry to abandon the dealership I have used over the years as they always give a good deal and provide fabulous service.

So if the Genesis had not existed, we probably would have bought an Acura TL. I almost bought one four years ago. We have an Acura RSX as our second car and are impressed with its quality as it ages.

As it happens, our daughter bought a new Acura TL just a couple of weeks after we bought our Genesis. So we will have an interesting one on one comparison over the next couple of years.

A 535i..... A second choice was a G8 GXP but I couldn't get past the kid racer interior...

Was negotiating on a Black Dodge Charger R/T V8 (Actually had it in my garage on a test drive). My wife noticed a high pitch wine from inside the cabin though. That was it.........I'm done with Chrysler (Despite a $17,000 discount!).

My Genesis has been the best new car I have ever purchased. Zero problems.

I was on the fence with my M35. My wife wasn't a fan of the M. But she spends most of her time in her SC430. When not in that, she preferred to drive the Frontier. So I may have kept the M a little longer. I was leaning heavily toward a 2007-08 certified, pre-owned Lexus LS460. I still keep my eye on them. But the Genesis will do until the Equus shows up. Then I may pull the trigger again.

2009 VW CC 3.6 AWD.

Luckily, my VW dealer also sells Hyundais. Having read positive things about the Gen, then comparing prices and features with the CC, it was a no-brainer.

Though I still think the CC is a beautiful car.

Was just about to sign on dotted line for Cadillac CTS....then test drove the Genesis....loved it and leased it.

I'm still on the fence. I've been considering the TL, G37, or M35. I was interested in the 335d but was unimpressed when I drove it.

According to this article the Genesis has taken sales primarily from the A6, ES, GS, and M.

Either the CTS or G8 GT.

It would have been something in the price range, so MKS, CTS, G37 sedan, ES350, or maybe would have waited for the HS250h.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, I was considering to be really cheap and get a Sonata Limited despite the upcoming refresh. $23K OTD was a steal.

probably G37 Sedan or M35, although I did seriously consder the Maxima and Acura TL too.

Subar Legacy GT Limited or Sonata depending on price gap. Probably the Subi.

I still have my research sticky note on the side of my computer at work (with+/-)...

  • Cad STS -
  • Lexus LS460 +
  • BMW 550i +
  • Merc E550 +
  • Audi A6 -
  • Jag XF -

Probably would have gone with the LS, but who knows.

Either the Maxima or the TL

I was going to purchase a fully loaded 09 Cadilac CTS, or a 09 Acura RL with tech pkg, but I am so glad I bought the Genesis
