I completely believed you, but with Mcc, he doesn't believe anything I post unless proof is provided. So I had to admit that my only knowledge was what you posted. Of course, if he agrees with what I post, he doesn't require any proof.
I also believe what your dealer told you, because it sounds reasonable, and consistent with what other were quoted as saying.
I could be wrong, but I thought at one time they did call it Genesis Motors USA, but I do see is now Genesis Motor America. Their Twitter account is still @genesisUSA

I agree that no Genesis dealerships are authorized to sell 2019 Genesis models in the USA at this time. But at least half of the Hyundai dealerships sold Genesis Motors vehicles for model year 2017 and 2018. It may be that they changed the legal name of the company in the USA to Genesis Motor America to emphasize that no one is yet authorized to sell the 2019 models (or maybe not). This makes it look like they haven't selected a Genesis dealer network yet, when in reality (except for the legal change in company name) they are ripping the Genesis models from hundreds of Hyundai dealers starting with model year 2019. That's why they will supposedly have to compensate some of them for no longer being able to sell Genesis vehicles.
You should write for the tabloids. I especially like the sensationalism in the phrase “ripping the Genesis models from hundreds of Hyundai dealers”. Last I heard they were offering them 4 million dollar in compensation. Yea that is pretty tough to take. You could say that the dealers are trying to screw Genesis out of every penny they can even the ones that delivery lousy service. Sound unbiased like your quote? They “are” ripping but they “supposedly” have to compensate. If you just said things in a normal way without the editorializing, I think we would agree on a lot.
Actually, I agree with most everything else now that we have the full quote. You have to admit that the way it was first said was confusing and needed to be questioned, whether I agreed with it or not.
