  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I am close to pulling the trigger on a 2015 Genesis w/Ultimate package for $38K (~7K miles) but I am wondering if it makes more sense to wait till late summer once the G80 comes out so that I can get a similar deal on 2016 models. Does anyone think the intro of the 2017 G80 will motivate dealers to drastically cut prices of 2016 models? Should I wait or purchase the 2015?

If they have a lot of inventory left, they will drastically cut prices on the 2016's. But hard to know how much 2016 inventory they will have when the G80 comes out.

Last year they definitely held back inventory at port in an effort to maintain pricing. That did not work well. It got hard to find certain colors and packages, and eventually the incentives had to get much larger to sell through. I'd suspect that they will keep things a bit more scarce this year in anticipation of the G80.

At some point chasing the killer deal can be exhausting, time consuming and in the end may produce a slim financial gain on a second pick color or model. There is a point where the deals bottom out - where that is is impossible to predict. There is a price to waiting - to save what may a few hundred dollars is in exchange for delaying driving a great car. Life is short. Look for a deal you can afford and pick that point when those points align. In the end, the gut wrenching pontificating and pausing whether a car can be had cheaper at some point in time overwhelms the joy of owning one.

Those who paid more than the deals that may be available now have had the pleasure of driving this car during that time - many would not trade the potential savings to have missed out on this excellent vehicle.

29k is the going rate for a new 2015 signature. id pay 2500 for each package up. so 31,500 for tech and 34k for ultimate.

maybe 32500 for twch and 35k for ultimate, but thats as high as id go for the 2015 now.

Please keep us informed if you ever achieve a brand new Ultimate for $34k-$35k.

Remember that the '16 has a 5 year warranty on the electronics/tech instead of the 3 year on the 15. From my experience, you will need it. You could also try to cut a deal for a discounted extended warranty as part of your purchase of the '15. For me, it would depend on how much I wanted /needed a new car.

Pretty sure you're referencing my $29.6 as the going price for a 3.8 2015 Sig. Keep in mind that price was achieved with a major inside connection. Bumping up to the tech achieved absolutely no discount on that $3500 package, and the same was true for the ultimate package. The Hyundai corporate discounts are being applied via the engine model, not necessarily the option package. For a truly new Ultimate I would have been looking $13.5 off sticker....same for Tech, same for Sig.
