  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

So long story short I ordered a transmission pan for my 2015 5.0 off eBay one night. It just came in. The part# I thought I ordered was 452804E020. The eBay receipt said 452804F320. The pan is stamped
45280-4f320 (d)
45280-4e120 (c)
45280-4e020 (a)
45280-4f001 (b)
It looks to be OEM with a partnumber on the opposite end reading 45280-47400(b).
Are these pans interchangeable?
I would upload the image but the site says it's too big for the servers to process.

The 45280-47400 part number appears to be for the 2.0T G70, however I believe that the model also uses the same or similar 8 speed automatic transmission.

My guess is that the transmission pan fit all models equipped with the Hyundai made 8-speed automatic transmission hence all the different part number on the pan.

Ok that makes sense. Thank you again! I was in a panic thinking the attached filter was different or something. It's crazy the Hyundai sites were charging like 500$ for pans for the 5L!

I would still measure the new pan against your current OEM pan to be sure since there are some unknowns when it come to Hyundai parts and what is compatible among the model years.

Will do! Thanks for the advice!

It was my understanding that the 8 speeds used in the G70 / Stinger had a slightly smaller case, since they were able to package it a little more efficiently - I certainly could be wrong though. Don't know if that would impact the size of the pan or not.

Yeah - that's nuts. You used to be able to buy them for ~ $140 for years.

That's why I didn't buy one when I bought the car!! Luxury tax caught up huh. I know they are selling the new G90 for 6 figures now, bargain luxury no more!!

It's probably a Supply Chain thing & simple greed - Since they're not getting a regular supply, they've decided to go for max profit off the remaining stock. Glad I got mine when I did. Still ended up costing $250 or so.

Important information which could mean that the pan will not fit a 2015 model; however the G70 pan could still be the same size. Sometimes the transmission cases are the same among different models, but may only have different size bell-housings. I am not sure if the Hyundai 8 speed transmission have a removable bell-housing like some other makes like GM.

Hey where did you guys buy your fluid from? I don't want to go to a shop and have them put some random cheapo crap in it.
I bought some Ravenol(German brand) fluid off Ebay. The brand is used mostly by European car DIY owners for BMW,Mercedes, and Volvo transmission. Good fluid.

I was going to buy the Ravenol for my trans oil/filter change - until I found that the local KIA dealer had the same spec oil by the quart for use in the Stinger for a considerably cheaper $. I had asked the nearest Genesis dealer for it and they said they didn't stock it, I had to bring the car in. Another reason to avoid that dealership!

How much was it per quart?

I came across BLAU Parts which sells a kit for our cars! It states: "Fits Genesis 8-speed transmission fluid changes for 2019 - 2021 Genesis G70 3.3L, 2022 Genesis G70 2.0L, 2018 - 2020 Genesis G80 3.3L 3.8L and 5.0L. Also fits 2017-2021 Genesis G90 models 3.3L and 5.0L." I'm hoping this means the pans are the same 🤞. I will still get under the car today to see if it lines up!

That would be good to know - Especially if it's not $500 bucks! Good Luck!

I hope the pan fits because I believe that the transmission pan I bought is the same as yours; however I did not install it yet.

I would have bought the OEM fluid if it was cheaper for sure. However i am good with the Ravenol brand. Quality fluid so it should not be an issue, but you can not go wrong by going with the OEM transmission fluid.

My transmission shift very smooth with the Ravenol for about 2 years now after my last drain and fill; no performance issues with the fluid.

My trans still gives the occasional weird shift but much improved from previous - may have my indie do another drain & refill to get the rest of the old crap out.
